NFL Predictions – Titans Square Off With A Hot Bills Team

NFL Predictions    Tennessee Titans vs. Buffalo Bills   Over/Under: 48.5  Odds: Titans +9.5, Bills –9.5  Time: 7:15 PM ET    NFL Predictions We have some more Week 2 action in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans taking on the Buffalo Bills. Tennesse had an awful opening game, losing to the New York Giants despite being heavily favored. As for the Bills, they dominated the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.   The Titans had a relatively simple day in the box score against the Giants. Ryan Tannehill threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns without an interception while Derrick Henry took 21 carries for 82 yards. The problem was that none of it stood out. They slowly pushed the ball down field throughout the game but weren’t making big plays and taking momentum. This resulted in them getting shutout in the fourth quarter and only scoring 20 points total. Now, their defense did rack up five sacks on the day with two forced fumbles and an interception. That was the real takeaway from them. Though it could honestly be seen as more concerning given the fact that they rarely converted on them.   Meanwhile, the Bills just lit up the leagues most stacked defense. The Rams have Jalen Ramsey, Bobby Wagner, Aaron Donald and so many others and yet Buffalo made it look easy last week. Josh Allen threw for 297 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while only missing four throws. One of those interceptions wasn’t even his fault as the receiver dropped the pass. Allen also had 10 rushes for 56 yards and another touchdown. Everywhere you looked, these guys came out and performed. On defense, Buffalo was flying all over the field with three interceptions and seven sacks in total. If this team plays consistently all year long, I wouldn’t want to be the guys going against them.    NFL Picks Today Shockingly, the Titans have been playing well against Buffalo in the last two years. These two teams have matched up five times over the past five years. Tennessee won the first one, then the Bills rattled off two straight, and now the Titans have won two straight against them.   It’s not hard to see why Buffalo is the favored team in this game after what we’ve seen from these groups in Week 1. I have to be rolling with the Bills and the spread here given the offensive talent and the way the defensive line got after Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense. Tennessee does of course have Derrick Henry to shoulder the load, but we all know that. I believe Buffalo will lock down Henry and force Tannehill to win the game with his arm, and I simply don’t see him outdueling Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs with AJ Brown now on the Philadelphia Eagles.   As for the total, it’s set at 48.5. I would roll with the over in this matchup. Both of their last two games have hit the over and with how hot Buffalo is offensively at the moment, points will be scored often. In 2021, the final hit 65 points. The previous matchup in 2020 saw the total hit 58. This seems to be one of the safer bets to make.   Final Pick: Bills –9.5  Over/Under Choice: Over 48.5  If you’re looking for more content, click here!

Manchester United will give Ten Hag up to £100m for new players in January

Erik Ten Hag could be handed as much as £100m to buy new players in the January transfer window at Manchester United. The Dutchman became the club’s latest manager in the summer as they chased more glory and improvement as a team. United has struggled over the last few seasons and they see Ten Hag as the man to get them back to their glory days. They splashed huge sums of money to sign Antony and Casemiro in the last transfer window, among others, but more players are expected to join the club. Matchplug understands United will spend around £70m on new players in the winter, but if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves, they will spend at least £100m. He is the highest earner at Old Trafford and they will save significant sums of money from offloading him in the next transfer window.

Liverpool already leading the race for Jude Bellingham

Liverpool is expected to be the number one club in the race to sign Jude Bellingham next season as they look to replace their poor midfield. Jurgen Klopp’s side has struggled at this start of the season and one reason for that is because their midfield has been poor. It is made up of old players with James Milner still getting regular minutes in the group and the Reds are now looking to revamp that spot. With Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain constantly injured, it leaves them constantly in need of someone to help fill the void in that spot. Bellingham is one of England’s top talents and he is expected to start for his country at the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His fine performances in Germany for Borussia Dortmund have made him one of the sought-after players in the world and Liverpool will lead the race to sign him at the end of this Matchplug understands.

Max Allegri refuse to resign as Juventus manager

Juventus suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Benfica last night and they now face the prospect of not qualifying for the knockout round of the Champions League. The Old Lady lost their opening group game of the competition at PSG and they were expected to keep their hopes alive by beating Benfica. Despite taking an early lead in the 4th minute, they allowed the Portuguese side to rally back and beat them 2-1. That was one of the worst performances from them in recent weeks and there have been calls for Allegri to leave the club. He won five consecutive league titles in his first term as its manager, but this second coming has been poorer than expected. However, when asked after the game if he was part of the problem or solution, Allegri said, as quoted by Matchplug: “I feel part of the solution, I must find a solution. “When I returned, I thought it would take time to build. Unfortunately, I didn’t think we could lose two games in a row. The important thing is to do well and remain in the Champions League. These defeats are annoying, but it’s useless to talk too much now.”

Brighton to replace Potter with Bundesliga manager

Brighton are ramping up their efforts to appoint a new manager for their team after the shocking departure of Graham Potter last week. The Englishman left them to join Chelsea in London after an impressive spell in charge of the club and they have to find a replacement now. Adam Lallana is expected to lead their team in their next league game in a player-plus-manager role, but they want an established boss to replace Potter. The search has begun for his replacement and Matchplug understands Mainz 05’s Bo Svensson has been identified as their ideal target. He has been at the German for a year and has made them one of the finest teams to watch in the German top flight. The Seagulls believe he can continue the good work that Potter has started at the Amex if he makes the move to the Premier League.

Michael Owen says Liverpool will be back to form

Michael Owen has backed Liverpool to return to form in this campaign and compete for the Premier League title. The Reds have been in poor form in this campaign and they are playing catch-up in the race for the Premier League title now. They were beaten 4-1 by Napoli in a recent game before returning to form in a 2-1 win against Ajax in the UCL last night. It has been a tough start to the term for Jurgen Klopp’s men and they have to get back to form quicker if they want to keep their title prospect open. Michael Owen has now warned that they should not be written off just yet. He said, as quoted by Matchplug: ‘They have had an average start. ‘In the league you don’t want to be giving Manchester City a head start, but it’s nothing they cannot recover from.  ‘You don’t turn into a bad team overnight. They will be back, but need to do it before teams get away from them.’

Paul Pogba could still make the World Cup

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba could still make the France squad for the Qatar 2022 World after he underwent surgery for a knee problem. The former Manchester United man suffered the issue in pre-season with Juventus and wasted a month when he opted not to undergo surgery. The alternative treatment method he chose worsened the injury, but it has been operated on now and he is expected to be out for around two months. If everything goes to plan, he will be back around 10 days before the World Cup begins. He would not have played enough club matches before then. However, he is one of the important players at his national team and his manager, Didier Deschamp will pick him for the competition, Matchplug understands. This is because he is considered for the core members of the squad and an important inspirational leader.

Neymar Frustrated by Mbappe

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have been seen as very close teammates before now and the Duo seem to have hit it off in their relationship a long time ago. However, after the Frenchman signed a new big-money deal in the summer, things seem to have changed and they recently argued over who should take a spot-kick. Neymar won that argument, but that was the clearest show that their relationship is no longer as sweet as it was before now. Matchplug understands that the Brazilian is still very frustrated by his World Cup-winner teammate and he believes the Frenchman is selfish and that is the cause of their current problems. Mbappe has grown from the youngster he was when he first moved to PSG and he is now one of the best players in the world. He would look to ensure his teammates know that it is his time to become a global superstar.

Lamar Jackson Doesn’t Sign Extension

Baltimore Raven fans look away. All offseason we’ve been paying attention to the drama surrounding Lamar Jackson and his much-deserved contract extension. Recently, Jackson made it clear that he would not be signing an extension if they couldn’t agree by the end of the week. This is because he is choosing not to battle for an extension right in the middle of the regular season. Something that a good chunk of players opt not to do.  The weekend is now upon us, and the two sides couldn’t agree whatsoever. The team’s General Manager Eric DeCosta said, “Despite best efforts on both sides, we were unable to reach a contract extension with Lamar Jackson. We greatly appreciate how he has handled this process. And we are excited about our team with Lamar leading the way. We will continue to work towards a long-term contract after the season, but for now we are looking forward to a successful 2022 campaign.”  Again, this certainly wasn’t the news that Ravens fans wanted to hear. Head coach John Harbaugh said, “I wasn’t directly involved with any back and forth, but you’re hopeful.” He continued by saying, “He and I talked about it yesterday a little bit, like, hey man, let’s go be our best and go focus on football.” It’s clear that both Harbaugh and Jackson are putting all of their efforts on the season opener on Sunday.  Lamar Jackson Not Signing Was Unexpected A few months ago in March, DeCosta came out and shared a ton of hope to sign Lamar. He made it unbelievably clear that re-signing him was their highest priority way back at the NFL combine. All these months past and it’s looked like they’ve gotten further apart then before. At one point, DeCosta even said, “He knows how to find me; I know how to find him.”  One could imagine that the contract Deshaun Watson recently signed impacted these negotiations. Watson didn’t play for an entire season and made $230 million, fully guaranteed. Obviously, Lamar believes that he deserves more and how can you blame him for that? He was the 2019 NFL MVP and has consistently dragged Baltimore’s offense forward with his speed and athleticism.   It hasn’t just been Watson who tipped the quarterback market. We all know that Patrick Mahomes signed that $500 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs a few years ago. Then Josh Allen signed a six-year, $258 million deal a little over a year ago. Lamar Jackson might not be demanding more than those guys, but it’s not easy to argue that he is looking for something close to those numbers. Jackson hasn’t had much playoff success with the organization, though they likely wouldn’t be even in contention without him leading the charge the past four years.   Hopefully, Jackson is able to stay healthy throughout the year to eventually get the contract he deserves from the Ravens. I know one thing is for sure though, Baltimore will definitely regret not inking Lamar to an extension if he gets up and leaves in the offseason.   Click here for more of our content!

Brazil call-up Juventus defender before Italy

Brazil has handed a first international call-up to Gleison Bremer as they prepare for the World Cup later this year. The Selecao have been watching the 25-year-old who only just moved to Juve from Torino, where he has been since 2018. Bremer was the best defender in Serie A last season and that earned him his big-money move to Juve and he has been on the radar of the Italian national team. Through his wife, he could earn Italian citizenship next year and the Azzurri had been hopeful Brazil will overlook him before that time. He has insisted in the past that he prefers to play for Brazil but kept the door open for Italy and the Italians had to act on the hint. Their failure to do so could make them miss out on him to Brazil, but the next games are just friendlies, so he can still play for the Italian national team.
