Jayson Tatum Misses First Playoff Game of His Career Due to Wrist Injury

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum missed his first ever playoff  game on Wednesday night due to a bone bruise. The injury occurred when Tatum was hit hard by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope during a dunk attempt in Game 1. The six-time All-Star was ruled out an hour before tipoff of Game 2 in their match against the Orlando Magic. Tatum sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of the game on Sunday. Despite Tatum’s absence, the Celtics secured a 109-100 victory, with All-Star Jaylen Brown leading the charge. Tatum cheered on his teammates from the bench and engaged with them during timeouts. Drury Signs New Contract to Stay GM of New York Rangers

Chris Drury has signed a multiyear contract to remain the general manager of the New York Rangers. Drury, 48, has held the role of both president and GM since May 2021. Over four full seasons, Drury has led the Rangers to a 193-105-30 record in the regular season and three playoff appearances. “I am honored to sign this contract extension and continue in this position with the team I grew up supporting,” Drury said. “There isn’t a more special organization in hockey and I look forward to continuing our work this offseason.” The Rangers missed the playoffs this season despite winning the Presidents’ Trophy last year. They reached the Eastern Conference Final that season, but this year ended in disappointment. The team finished fifth in the Metropolitan Division for the final wild card spot. Head coach Peter Laviolette was let go on April 19. Before becoming GM, Drury spent years in the Rangers front office.
