Brentford has completed the free signing of Ben Mee on a two-year deal as the defender ends his long association with Burnley, Matchplug understands.
Mee has been one of the Premier League’s reliable defenders over the years, but he was powerless to stop Burnley from being relegated at the end of last season.
The Clarets released him at the end of the campaign alongside several first team players who were out of contract at the club.
The defender was attracting the attention of several clubs around the country and he has now decided to move to Brentford.
The Bees did well in their first season back at the Premier League. However, they have not seriously altered their squad in this transfer window.
Mee is just their fourth signing of the transfer window as Thomas Frank keeps faith with most of the players that helped his team in the last campaign.
