Bayern setback: Davies out longer with knee injury

Bayern Munich suffered a major setback as Alphonso Davies sustained a cruciate ligament rupture. The injury happened playing for Canada, ruling him out for at least six months.

Dayot Upamecano also faces several weeks on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a knee issue.

Davies will undergo surgery on Wednesday, while Bayern’s medical team will monitor Upamecano’s recovery. Both players will miss the club’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

Sporting director Max Eberl acknowledged the blow, saying, “The absence of Alphonso and Dayot Upamecano weighs heavily on FC Bayern,” but expressed confidence that the squad can overcome the challenge.
