Arsenal enter race to sign £50 million Timo Werner

Arsenal have joined a host of European teams looking to sign RB Leipzig’s attacker Timo Werner.

The German has been banging in the goals for the unpopular German side since their ascension to the German top flight last season. He scored 21 goals in 39 games for them last season, and he has already bagged 16 in 29 games this season.

he scored a brace in Leipzig’s 3-1 win over Napoli last Thursday, and Sun Sport is reporting that the Gunners had a scout watching him in that game.

Werner, according to the report has just rejected a new deal from Leipzig a statement that shows that he may be looking to move elsewhere after this season.

Arsenal are not the only team trying to sign him, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also interested. However, Arsene Wenger is hoping the Gunners’ style of play and the lure of the city of London would tempt Werner to consider their offer.

Werner has scored 7 goals in 10 international games for Germany, and his suitors know that they may have to pay too much if he stars in the next World Cup, so they want to try and sign him now.
