Manchester United are on the verge of losing David de Gea on a free transfer next summer as the Spaniard continues to fail to give assurances over his future.
De Gea has under a year left on his current deal and although the club has the option of extending it by another year, the Spaniard seems to be on his way out of Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho has voiced his concern over the fact that the former Atletico Madrid stopper could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the nearest future, and that could become a self-fulfiling prophesy.
According to reports, Juventus have begun works underground to bring De Gea to the Serie A when his Manchester United contract expires.
The Italians have developed a reputation for snapping some of the world’s best players on a free transfer and want to make De Gea their next big catch.
When asked to give assurances about his future, De Gea said:
“What matters is the team and all of us being focused on what we need to focus on.
“[That] is winning games, rather than contracts or any topics that can be a distraction.
“What matters is focusing on football.
“We have an important game against Everton and we have some big fixtures over the coming months.
“I think that’s what matters, rather than thinking about anything else.”
