Manchester United plot to hijack Everton’s move for Barcelona star

Manchester United are planning to swoop for Barcelona’s Colombian defender, Yerry Mina after they were priced out of a deal for Harry Maguire. Maguire emerged as Jose Mourinho’s main target two weeks ago, but Leicester City don’t want any fee that is less than £65 million for the England World Cup hero. This fee has forced the Portuguese manager to turn his attention to Mina. Mina has been linked with moves to the Premier League all summer. Everton and West Ham were eyeing him with a season-long loan reportedly in the works. However, Manchester United are planning to make a permanent move for his services for £35 million. Mina scored 3 goals for Colombia in Russia, but would still struggle to get playing time at Barcelona this season with Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti the first choice centre-back pairing. The Blaugrana have also signed Clement Lenglet and Malcom, the latter would need to be signed as a non-EU player, so Mina would have to give up his spot.

Tottenham want Anthony Martial or £55 million for Manchester United target

If Manchester United are serious about signing Toby Alderweireld this summer, Tottenham have told them just what they need to do to land their man. The Red Devils are desperate to sign a new defender this summer and Jose Mourinho wants the Belgian ace. However, the two teams have been deadlocked in discussions over potential transfer so far. Reports on Sunsport claims that the Lilywhites have now informed them about what they need to do to get the defender. According to the report, Tottenham want £55 million or Anthony Martial in exchange for the World Cup semifinalist. Martial is set to leave Old Trafford this summer after falling out with his manager. They have reportedly proposed the swap deal to United and they are waiting for a response from the Red Devils.

Chelsea are set to meet with Juventus officials this week so they can conclude the £40 million move for Danielle  Rugani. The Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri is prepared to make the Italian his new defence leader and the two clubs have been discussing a transfer for a long time now. He stayed put last season because he expected to play regularly after the club sold Leonardo Bonucci, however, Max Allegri has continued to prefer Giorgio Chiellini and Medhi Benatia. Rugani would be signing a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge and would be the new defence leader, with David Luiz, Cesar Azpilicueta and Garry Cahill all fighting for the other centre back spot.

Arsenal’s move for former Premier League star being held up by his father

Arsenal’s move for Stephen Nzonzi is being held up by a unique clause in his current Sevilla contract that entitles his father to some money when he leaves the Spaniards. Nzonzi joined Sevilla in 2015 after spells in the Premier League with Blackburn and Stoke City, and he won the Europa League in his first season under current Arsenal manager, Unai Emery. The Spanish boss and the World Cup winner are keen on being reunited at the Emirates Stadium but the two clubs are still far from reaching an agreement. Nzonzi has a release clause of £36 million written into his current contract, but the Gunners don’t want to pay that much for his signature. Reports in Spain claim that if his father can forfeit his own percentage of any sale of the midfielder, the Spaniards would be willing to listen to offers below his release clause, otherwise, the Gunners would have to pay up his release clause.

Chelsea striker linked with a move to Valencia

Chelsea attacker Michy Batshuayi could be set to make yet another loan move out of Stamford Bridge this summer, with La Liga side, Valencia interested. The Belgian has failed to impress since he joined the Blues from Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2016. He was shipped out on loan in the second half of last season and scored 7 goals in 10 league games for Borussia Dortmund. The Germans were impressed and wanted to take him on a permanent basis this summer, but Chelsea wanted Maurizio Sarri to have a look at him first. However, the Italian is currently intensifying efforts to be reunited with Gonzalo Higuain and that would surely push Batshuayi further down the pecking order. He is already behind the likes of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud. Reports in Spain claim that the attacker has now been linked with a move to Valencia on a season-long loan deal. The Spaniards are said to have made their offer known to the Blues and they are now waiting to see if the Blues would want to add an obligation to buy at the end of the short-term deal.

Manchester United make enquiry over £65 million World Cup star

Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire after his stunning performance at the World Cup. Maguire was one of England’s stand out players at the just concluded World Cup in Russia and helped the Three Lions to reach the semifinal for the first time since 1990. While he was solid at the back he also chipped in with some important goals as Gareth Southgate’s side impressed. His performance at the competition has prompted several top-flight teams to consider a swoop for him, but Manchester United have been the most serious suitor. Jose Mourinho has been looking to sign a new centre-back before this transfer window closes. He had set his sight on the likes of Jerome Boateng and Toby Alderweireld, however, Maguire is seen as a better option due to his age as he would be a longer-term solution to that spot. Leicester City have said that the defender is not for sale, however, a bid of £65 million could be enough to tempt them into a sale, and Manchester United have reportedly asked them for their price.

Liverpool set to sign Besiktas World Cup star for £27 million

Liverpool’s transfer business appeared to be over after the Reds secured the signing of Allison from AS Roma last weekend, however, and injury to Joel Matip has necessitated a new foray into the transfer market. The Reds have reportedly set their sights on signing Croatia’s World Cup star, Demagoj Vida before the season starts. Vida was a partner of Dejan Lovren as the Croatians stormed to the World Cup final in Russia earlier this month and he has been attracting the attention of several top teams. Besiktas signed him for free from Dynamo Kiev in the January transfer window, but they are said to be holding out for a fee of around £27 million after his exploits in Russia. West Ham have also reportedly joined the race for his signature, with Fulham also reportedly keen on adding the experienced defender to their ranks, but Liverpool would be hoping they can complete the transfer soon ahead of the Hammers.

Liverpool make Sadio Mane their new number 10 ahead of the new season

Liverpool have ended their pursuit of Olympique Lyon’s Nabil Fekir after they decided to make Sadio Mane their new number 10. The Reds have been looking to replace Philippe Coutinho this summer, but a move for Fekir fell through after he failed his medicals. Reports emerged this week that Liverpool are planning to restart talks with the French giants for Fekir, but after landing Allison for a record £65 million fee, Jurgen Klopp told the club’s media that; ‘we have all we need’. This would be a major blow to most Liverpool fans who have been excited by the new arrivals at Anfield but were also hoping to see Fekir added to their team. The Reds have also confirmed that Sadio Mane would be taking over the number 10 shirt vacated by Philippe Coutinho last winter. The Senegalese attacker has become one of Klopp’s most important players and he netted 20 goals in all competitions for the Reds last season. Their fans would be hoping the jersey would see him perform even better when the new campaign gets underway.

Jose Mourinho plots move for two Bayern Munich stars

Manchester United are planning a major assault on Bayern Munich this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to sign the duo of Thiago Alcantara and Robert Lewandoski. The two World Cup stars have reportedly been made available for transfers by the German champions and Mourinho is keen on taking them to Old Trafford. Mourinho has signed Fred and also renewed the contract of Marouane Fellaini, but the Portuguese boss would not pass up the chance to sign one of the best midfielders in the world in Thiago. The Red Devils also over-relied on Romelu Lukaku last season and when the Belgian was unavailable to play, the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford proved to be inadequate backups, this has forced Mourinho to target Lewandoski. Lewandoski has made it clear to Bayern Munich that he wants to quit the Allianz Arena this summer, however, he may have too many big teams to consider with Real Madrid and Chelsea also looking to sign him. Thiago Alcantara on the other hand almost joined the Red Devils in 2013, but the move was hijacked by Pep Guardiola at the very death, he may want to try himself in the Premier League finally.

Paul Pogba considers returning to Juventus for £133 million as he wants to play with Ronaldo

The lure of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo next season seems to be turning the head of Manchester United midfield star, Paul Pogba and the French man has now been linked with a shocking £133 million return to Turin. Pogba played his best football in the colours of Juventus after joining them as a teenager in 2012, he made the world record return to Old Trafford in 2016, but his return has not been as sweet as he expected. Pogba has been criticised heavily by fans and pundits alike and he has even struggled to convince Jose Mourinho of his potential, with the Portuguese boss benching him for the previously unknown Scott McTominay for a few games last season. Sun Sport claims that  Blaise Matuidi is trying hard to help the Italians convince Pogba to make the return. Pogba is also impressed by Juve’s recent signings, most notably Cristiano Ronaldo and he could ask to leave Old Trafford. Manchester United have just been named the most valuable football club in the world, so they do not need to sell their star men, however, if Pogba asks to leave they would demand a record fee for the World Cup winner.
