Inter Milan may have gotten their first Champions League win of the season by beating Tottenham, however, they still want to take the Lilywhites apart in the transfer market. Reports in Italy claim that Inter are plotting to sign Serge Aurier next summer after watching him impress against them on Tuesday night. The Ivorian moved to Tottenham from PSG last summer and has continued to impress for Mauricio Pochettino’s side after an impressive maiden season. He started as Inter came from a goal down to beat Spurs 2-1 on Champions League matchday 1. As a matter of fact, he was at fault for Inter’s second goal as he failed to track his man from the corner who then headed in the winner. Despite that, the Italians believed they have seen enough to suggest to them that Aurier would be a good fit for them in the Serie A and in Europe. Aurier is currently the second choice behind Kieran Trippier at Wembley Stadium and could ask for a move if he is guaranteed more playing time at the San Siro.

Reports from France claims that Manchester City is one of several top European sides who are monitoring the progress of Nice midfielder, Wylan Cyprien. The 23-year old has been one of the best midfielders in the division in the past couple of seasons, but he has decided to remain at the French side to further his development. He was a target of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the last transfer window, and Manchester City have also sent a group of scouts to monitor his progress in the Patrick Viera led team. Cyprien also has a lot of interest from Germany and Italy, and the French media believe that he would be the next big talent to be exported from their shores. The midfielder hasn’t indicated that he wants to leave Nice yet, but City hope that when they come calling, he would find the chance to play for Pep Guardiola too tempting to turn down.

Manchester United were keen on adding a good centre back to their team this summer after Jose Mourinho identified that position as his team’s major problem. However, the Portuguese boss couldn’t get the club to give him a centre back despite their best attempts to bring in some of the best defenders in the game. Yerry Mina, Toby Alderweireld, and Rafael Varane were just some of the defenders that were linked with a move to Old Trafford, but none of them were signed by the Red Devils. Fresh reports from Talksport is claiming that the Red Devils wanted to sign Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid, but the  French man turned them down. Hernandez has a 45 million pound release clause on his current deal, and Manchester United offered the Spaniard’s 70 million pounds, which caused to consider selling him. However, Hernandez is reported to have turned down the offer and instead committed himself to a new deal at the Wanda Metropolitana.

Chelsea are set to lose one of their star midfielder in the next transfer windows as Maurizio Sarri settles into his preferred midfield pairing. The former Napoli boss signed Jorginho and Matteo Kovacic this summer and the duo has been impressing in the Chelsea midfield as the former Premier League champions stay unbeaten in the division. The impressive form of the starting midfielders has made it impossible for Cesc Fabregas to get playing time and 31 years old may be set to leave the Blues. Reports on Sun Sport claims that the former Arsenal and Barcelona man is been tracked by Inter Milan and AC Milan as the Italians look to bolster their midfield. Inter were desperate to sign Luka Modric in the last transfer window, but Real Madrid refused to sell, they seem to have turned their attention to Fabregas. Milan signed Tiemeoue Bakayoko on-loan from Chelsea this summer but he has been far from convincing so far. They believe Fabregas would offer much more in terms of experience and skill. Fabregas has just over 8 months left on his current deal, and the Italian teams are hoping Chelsea would agree to sell him in the next transfer window, or they would bag him for free next summer.

Manchester United did not have the most saga-free summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho complained relentlessly about not getting the signings he wanted. The former Chelsea boss also had a falling out with some of his players, with Alexis Sanchez seemingly the only player that is immune to criticism at the moment. One player who had a very publicised falling out with Jose Mourinho is Anthony Martial, and it seems the relationship between the pair is not getting any better soon. Reports on Talksport claims that Mourinho has had enough of Martial and he is set to allow the French man to leave Old Trafford at the earliest possible chance they get. Martial had wanted out during the last transfer window, but the Red Devils refused to sell. They also prefer to sell to a club in another country, but Martial wants to remain in the English top flight. Reports claim that Mourinho no longer cares about which club he joins and simply wants him out of Old Trafford.

Tottenham may have failed to sign any player in the last transfer window, but the Lilywhites can’t wait to complete the signing of one of Europe’s most exciting prospects. Reports on Sun Sport claims that Mauricio Pochettino has sanctioned the signing of Frankie de Jong from Ajax in a £40 million move when the transfer window reopens. De Jong has become one of AJax biggest stars and the latest product from their famed academy to gain the attention of Europe’s elites, and Tottenham want to steal a march on his other suitors. The 21 years old claims to be a fan of Barcelona, and the Catalans are among his suitors, but Pochettino is hoping that his reputation for helping youngsters develop well across Europe would sway the player’s decision in their favor. PSG are also interested in signing the Netherlands international. The French champions are desperate to tie Andrien Rabiot down to a new contract, but it seems that the French man has all but decided to play for another team next season, and they want de Jong to replace him.  

Barcelona have not given up hopes of signing Paul Pogba and the Catalan’s have gotten the support of some of the star players ahead of the next transfer window. Pogba told Manchester United that he wanted to move to Barcelona this summer after his relationship with Jose Mourinho hit an all-time low, but the Red Devils refused to entertain offers for him. His relationship with the Special One has still not improved greatly and a January move is reportedly still on the cards. Gerard Pique was the first Barcelona player to welcome the idea of playing alongside the World Cup winner, and Luis Suarez has added his voice. Asked about Pogba’s move to the Camp Nou, Luis Suarez said: “Pogba’s an elite player who’s won everything. “He has a lot of quality. I think he would like to be competing for more than he is at the moment. “He’s not a player that belongs to Barca, but he would always be welcome.”

Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid this summer to make a stunning £88 million move to Juventus. Having failed to get his desired wage at Real Madrid, the Portugal captain decided to move to Juventus who had agreed to pay him as much as Lionel Messi earns at Barcelona. However, before completing the move, the former Manchester United star was reportedly keen to return to Old Trafford this summer. Reports claim that the Red Devils were offered the chance to sign him, but Jose Mourinho vetoed the move in fear that he would be left short of funds to strengthen other parts of his team. Ronaldo is a fan favourite at Old Trafford and his return would have boosted the mood around the club as well as improve their commercial value. Ronaldo would nevertheless return to Old Trafford at some point this season as Juventus have been drawn with Manchester United in the same Champions League group.

Manchester United have been paired in the same Champions League group as Juventus this season, and they look set to welcome back Cristiano Ronaldo when the two sides meet at Old Trafford. However, one player who is also set to return to his old stomping ground is Paul Pogba. The Manchester United academy product moved to Juventus in the summer of 2012 after failing to land a professional deal with Manchester United. He returned to Old Trafford for a then world record fee in 2016. This summer he was looking for a move away after falling out with Jose Mourinho, but the Rede Devils rejected all offers for his signature, but Pogba is still keen on leaving the Theatre of Dreams. According to reports, he wants a move away in January, and a return to Juventus is his preferred option. He is claimed to be keen on playing alongside C. Ronaldo and that is his major motivation for wanting to make the move back to Italy.

Manchester United are not having the most ideal campaign. The Red Devils have lost two straight league games, and are currently enduring their worse start to a Premier League campaign since 1992. However, they are optimistic about the future and they want to keep hold of their best players no matter the nature of their relationships with Jose Mourinho. One player who has fallen out with Mourinho and who may struggle to get game time under the former Chelsea boss this season is Anthony Martial, but the French man is not bowing out despite the treatment from his manager. Reports claim that Martial is set to sign a new 5 years contract with the Red Devils that would see him net £130k per week because he believes he would outlast the former FC Porto boss. That would mark a remarkable U-turn for a player who was desperate to leave the club this summer. Martial has been relegated to a squad member since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez last winter, and his agent had claimed that they wanted out. His current deal was supposed to expire in 2020, but an extension would take the 22 years old further into his 30s at Old Trafford now.
