Arsenal in pole position to sign Lazio Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Current Premier League leaders Arsenal are in the lead to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic should he leave Lazio this summer. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serbian midfielder has made an ‘irreversible decision’ to leave the club this summer or when his contract ends in June 2024.  The player was in demand last summer, but Lazio demanded up to £100m for him. But with his contract up in a year and a half, the Serie A side might be forced to sell him for half that amount should Arsenal come calling in July. The Gunners recently signed Chelsea midfielder Jorginho but are still open to adding another midfielder to their ranks, especially as they could lose Albert Sambi Lokonga and Mohamed Elneny this way summer.

Manchester United vs Leeds United: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Manchester United will look to make it five wins in five games when they host Leeds United on Wednesday. Despite playing the last 15 minutes of their last game with ten men, the Red Devils continued their impressive run of form with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.  The result, followed by Arsenal’s loss to Everton and Manchester City’s loss to Tottenham, means that the Red Devils have returned to the Premier League title race. They currently sit eight points behind the Gunners but with a game more. Read more: Verona vs Lazio: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction Having won each of their last 13 games at Old Trafford and having not tasted defeat in any of their last 17 home league H2Hs (W11, D6) against Leeds, they will come into this game confident of getting a good result. Leeds United recently sacked head coach Jesse Marsch after a run of just two wins in 17 Premier League (PL) games (D5, L10). That run left Leeds just above the relegation zone by goal difference. Things do not look good for them, considering they have won just once at Old Trafford since 1981. But they have scored exactly once in five of the last six away H2Hs, so we can expect both teams to score in this fixture. For best BTTS prediction, click here.

Salernitana vs Juventus: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Salernitana will host Juventus this Tuesday at the Stadio Arechi for their 21st-round game of the 2022/23 Serie A season. Salernitana celebrated their first Serie A win in three months when they defeated Lecce by 2-1 in the last round. The result ended a run of seven games without a win (D2, L5) for the hosts and pushed them eight points above the relegation zone. So they will come into this game with a measure of breathing space, given the point gap between them and the drop zone.  Read more: Rayo Vallecano vs Almería: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction However, having conceded a league-high 38 goals and with their last league clean sheet now ten matches ago, they will be aware that their fight for safety is far from over. While they held Juventus to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture, their mediocre home form (W3, D3, L4) suggests that it will be another difficult outing for them. David Nicola’s men have not won at home against sides that started this round above them, so Juventus will fancy their chances here. But the Old Lady will also know that it will not be easy here, having lost 2-0 to Monza in their last league outing. That loss means that they come into this tie just ten points from the relegation zone. Ten points from the red line will be a massive gap for smaller teams, but for Massimiliano Allegri’s men, it is an embarrassment. The coach, after their most recent loss, demanded that his players must ‘be aware of the position in the table at this moment’.  His fears are valid when you consider that Juventus have conceded ten goals in their current three-game winless Serie A run (D1, L2) compared with just seven goals from the 17 games prior. But having beaten Lazio 1-0 in the Coppa Italia on Thursday, they will travel to the Campania region in a good mood. At the same time, four clean sheets from four away league matches against sides that started this round below them (W3, D1) puts them as the favourites here.  So this game is likely to produce Under 2.5 Goals. Rayo Vallecano vs Almería: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Almería will visit Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas on Monday to take on Rayo Vallecano. The hosts are looking to record back-to-back league wins for the first time since November after beating the top-six-chasing Villarreal away from home last time. The win over the Yellow Submarines was their second win since the return of league football after the World Cup, and it has pushed them ten points ahead of the relegation zone. They are just two points behind the European spots and will be desperate to end the season in the top half. However, to do that, they will have to improve their home form, as they have yet to win a home league fixture (D1, L2) since beating Real Madrid 1-0 here in early November. Read more: Verona vs Lazio: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction Almeria will also hope to record a second consecutive win when they face Rayo Vallecano on Mondays. The visitors come into this fixture on the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Espanyol. The win stretched their unbeaten run in the league to three matches (W1, D2) and pushed them further away from the relegation zone.  They defeated Rayo Vallecano 3-1 the last ten both teams met in October. But with Los Rojiblancos one of two sides still to win a league-away game this term (D3, L6), the football prediction for today will be Under 2.5 Goals.

Verona vs Lazio: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Lazio will travel to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Monday to face Verona in the 21st round of the 2022/23 Serie A season. The relegation-threatened Verona continued their upturn with a 1-1 draw against Udinese last time out. The result extended their impressive Serie A start to the new year (W2, D2, L1), a run that moved them to within five points of safety coming into the round.  Having lost the reverse fixture against Lazio 2-0, the hosts will be eager to avoid their first double head-to-head defeats in a single season since 2017/18. Read more: Barcelona vs Sevilla: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction Lazio missed out on the opportunity to climb to second position last time as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina. That loss was followed by a narrow 1-0 loss in midweek to Juventus in the Coppa Italia. But with only five points separating them from second-placed Inter ahead of this round, the visitors will be eager to put their cup disappointment behind them and win this game. One goal could be enough to return to winning ways, as they’ve conceded just 16 this term. Maurizio Sarri’s side have kept a clean sheet in six of their nine away league matches (W5, D2, L2), so they will fancy their chances against a Verona side that have lost each of their five home league matches against top-half sides. Barcelona vs Sevilla: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction

La Liga leaders Barcelona will welcome struggling La Liga giants Sevilla to Camp Nou this Sunday for their 20th fixture of the league season. The Catalan side are enjoying good results and performance in La Liga this season as they sit top of the league table, ahead of Real Madrid. They come into this tie on the back of a well-fought 2-1 win over Real Betis that saw them reach 50 points for the season. They could see their lead cut to two by kick-off, given that Madrid will play before them. However, with a record of having won the title in four of the five previous occasions they’ve picked up 50+ points at this stage, Xavi’s side are “on a good path” to title success. Read more: Tottenham vs Manchester City: Match Preview and Expert Football Prediction After a series of poor results and being stuck in the relegation zone, Sevilla are now on a good path towards survival. The visitors have managed to climb into mid-table with three wins across their last four league games (L1), giving them a two-point cushion to the relegation zone after 19 matches.  However, they could still be dragged back into the red zone by kick-off, given that the teams below them play earlier. That fact only adds to the weight of history as Jorge Sampaoli’s men have failed to win a La Liga H2H since October 2015 (D4, L10). But given that they have netted in each of their last nine away league games, eight times exactly once, they will fancy their chances of bridging a stubborn Barcelona backline. However, given that Barcelona have enjoyed narrow wins in their last three home games, the accurate prediction for this game will be Under 1.5 goals.
