Man City, PSG eye Estêvão ‘dreams of playing’ for Barcelona

Palmeiras’ Estêvão is one of the Brazilian prodigies already making headlines. The 16-year-old striker granted an interview to ‘Mundo Deportivo’ where he revealed that he dreams of playing for FC Barcelona. The rising star is also on Manchester City and PSG’s radar, as reported a few months ago.

The world of football is constantly unveiling talents who will soon become great stars of this sport. The latest one to make a name for himself is Estêvão, who at 16 years of age is getting compared to other greats like Messi. Dubbed ‘Messinho’, the prodigy talked about his promising future in the interview. 

“Sometimes it’s a bit difficult to explain why I know that these big clubs are interested in me, but I’m focused on improving my football, trying to do my best to be able to get to these clubs and develop more and more and be the best in the world,” he replied about the interest of teams like PSG, Manchester City or Barcelona itself.

Estêvão mentioned who his idol is: “I look a lot at Messi, who is a player I admire a lot. I watch videos of him and try to reproduce what he does on the pitch and sometimes it works.

But he also takes after other players: “I really like Neymar, who is also Brazilian and one of the best in the world. I also watch videos of him.

When asked about Barca’s interest in signing him, Estêvão answered: “I watch almost every Barca game, I’m a fan of the club. I have great admiration for the players who play there and I hope to be there too,” he added.

The talented budding Brazilian footballer also spoke talked another star player, Lamine Yamal: “Yes, of course I saw him. He’s a very talented player, I’ve seen several of his games and who knows if we could play together in the future.

Finally, ‘Messinho’ revealed what his big dream is: “To play for Barcelona, which is one of the best clubs in the world. I was born watching Neymar, Messi and Suarez play for Barcelona and that’s the dream I have.
