Borussia Dortmund are meeting with Manchester City for fullback Yan Couto. According to Sky Deutschland, Dortmund have reached an agreement with Couto on personal terms. BVB are now discussing with the Citizens about a fee for the Brazilian international. But, the clubs are yet to agree on a price for Couto. The right-back was on loan last season with Girona, where he helped the Spanish side qualify for this campaign’s Champions League.  Couto’s contract with Manchester will expire in less than a year.

Liverpool are considering a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.  The German national has been listed for transfer by Bayern this summer. Reds manager Arne Slot is a fan and is convinced that he can help Goretzka return to his best form.  According to BILD’s Lukas Fisher: “EXCL: Liverpool are looking at Leon Goretzka as a reinforcement for their midfield. Arne Slot believes he can rejuvenate his career. FCB open to the move. “The deal will have to be a loan with an option to buy. “LFC have to pay most of the salary and a small loan fee.”

Bayern Munich are jeopardising Barcelona’s plans to buy Nico Williams. Barcelona president Joan Laporta announced on Sunday that they “can afford to sign the Athletic Bilbao winger.  Willams’ contract has a €58m buyout clause. And Marca reports that Bayern are also interested and ready to pay his option. For Williams, he is said to prefer Barca if he is to leave Athletic this summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund have added Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to their list of potential midfielders. Dortmund are eager to strengthen their central areas, with the Tottenham player to become a viable option if they cannot get Brighton’s Pascal Gross. Højbjerg will take time to reflect on Denmark’s elimination from the Euros at the hands of Germany and might then weigh his options in the future. The Danish midfielder wants to leave Hotspurs in the summer after Ange Postecoglou downgraded his role last campaign. There were some transfer rumours surrounding Højbjerg last summer and in January too. Although, the Spurs held on to him, especially during the winter window. They may have to sell him in this window, as he wants to become important again. Atletico Madrid and Lyon were considered new homes for the midfielder, and now he is on Dortmund’s radar. They want to recruit someone in the central zones and see Højbjerg as a huge alternative to Gross. Højbjerg might be a good option for them, especially since he is at his peak, and despite limited starts, he was consistent last season. But, Dortmund has to make him a mouthwatering offer, as there are many teams who want him.

Bayern Munich have made a breakthrough in transferring João Palhinha from Fulham, as both clubs have agreed to a €50m deal plus €5m in potential add-ons. This report is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano who has reported this story from the start and has now confirmed the deal. For Fulham, moving Palhinha to Bayern would be a club transfer record according to Sky news and would be a sizable amount of money for them entering a new Premier League season. Romano said on Twitter:  “Palhinha will sign a contract until 2028 at Bayern, he’s been pushing for weeks for the deal to happen. Medical to be booked then docs to be signed. Story confirmed.”  Palhinha is currently representing Portugal at the Euros but has not registered a goal or assist despite his team reaching the Quarter Final. He secured 4 goals and 1 assist last campaign and will most likely act as holding midfielder for Bayern. Many believe that the Portugal national is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world with his strength, passing and switching of play being perfect for a Munich team that struggles with possession.

Bayern Munich have not given up their interest in Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.  Fulham have already gotten a first offer from Bayern for the Portugal player. According to BILD, Bayern are expected to make another bid for him. The German side intend to now propose €46m; plus bonuses, but it is not clear if this sum is enough. Fulham set a price tag of €70m to sell Palhinha ahead of next season.  The midfielder’s contract with the English club will run until summer of 2028, with an option for an extra year.

Former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is glad to see Nuri Sahin take over Borussia Dortmund.  The ex BVB and Liverpool midfielder has been named new coach after Edin Terzic surprisingly resigned.  Klopp, who left Dortmund for Liverpool nine years ago, told BILD: “At 35, Nuri is a very young coach, but so was I. “I definitely believe that after his outstanding career as a player, he will also become a super coach. “Of course, I wish him the greatest success at BVB.”

Tottenham is in danger of losing the signature of Stuttgart defender Hiroki Ito. The Japan national is on the radar for Spurs this summer. However, Sky Deutschland reports that Bayern Munich are also working hard to bring in Ito.  Bayern are ready to activate the 25-year-old’s buyout clause – which is set for €30m. And Ito is said to be eager to join Bayern Munich in the coming weeks. 

Burnley were relegated from the Premier League in the first term after they were promoted. Kompany could not keep them in the top flight, but has joined Bayern Munich in Germany. “It starts with a message of thanks, of course. I was very lucky; I was surrounded by hard-working people, players who gave everything,” he said on Instagram. “And I felt privileged and honoured to be welcomed, and to be part of such a good environment – so for that, thank you. “The best way to describe how I lived it is that I think I gave everything back. “(The) best memory I had was beating Blackburn at home 3-0 and then going and beating them at their home and winning the league there – that was good. I loved every moment at the club – it’s been a very important part of my life. ”

A few clubs are reported to be observing Oleksandr Zinchenko closely this summer. The Arsenal left-back is one of the players that German side Bayern Munich are targeting. Bayern’s manager Vincent Kompany is familiar with Zinchenko from the Premier League. The Ukraine player could leave the Gunners, according to reports from The Mirror, as he wants to play regular football.  If Munich lose Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid, which seems likely, they will get a replacement. Zinchenko could be that player, as his top-notch passing would fit into Kompany’s attacking management style.
