West Ham want Michy Batshuayi in return for Andy Carroll if Chelsea make their move for England striker this month.
Chelsea are looking for an alternative striker to share the goalscoring burden with Alvaro Morata and they have identified Carroll as one that would provide a different style to their game.
The Blues were interested in signing another big attacker last summer and thought they had clinched a deal for Swansea’s Fernando Llorente, but the Spaniard decided against joining them and moved to Tottenham instead.
Alvaro Morata has scored 10 Premier League goals this season but has just 5 goals in his last 22 appearances for the Blues.
Antonio Conte wants a new attacker to help take the limelight off the Spaniard at least for a period of time.
Batshuayi has failed to impress the Italian so far and looks to be on his way out.
Sevilla are confident that they would sign the Belgian this month, but West Ham could spoil their move.
The Hammers do not want to be left short of options if Carroll joins the Blues and have asked for Batshuayi in return.
Chelsea want Carroll on an initial loan deal, but with this condition, they would have to make the move a permanent one.
