Brighton are looking to sign Celtic French attacker, Mousa Dembele next month.
Seagulls manager, Chris Houghton wants to add pace to his attacking line up, and feels Dembele is the right player after missing out on some key targets last summer.
Dembele is currently valued at £30 million by the Scottish league champions, and Brighton feel they can tempt them with a £20 million offer.
Brighton’s club record transfer fee is £13.5 million paid for the services of Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo in August, but they are not afraid to break that record again.
This season, Dembele has been slowed down by the recurrence of a hamstring injury he picked up last season, yet the 21 years old has scored 8 goals in 16 appearances for the Bhoys.
After signing for £400,000 from Fulham last season, Dembele is keen to force his way into the thinking of the French national team handlers ahead of next year’s world cup.
Celtic have no financial need to sell after making the round of 32 in the Europa yet again this season, and may not listen to offers for the attacker until next summer.
