Nick Sirianni Blasts Criticism of Jalen Hurts’ Role in Eagles’ Super Bowl Win

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni isn’t having any of the talk downplaying Jalen Hurts‘ contribution to Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LIX victory.

Much of the spotlight has been on Saquon Barkley‘s 2,000-yard season and the Eagles’ dominant defense, but some critics have suggested that Hurts simply managed the offense rather than being a driving force behind the team’s success.

Sirianni quickly shut that down.

“Yeah,” Sirianni said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia.  “That’s bulls—.”

Hurts’ 2024 season stats, 2,903 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 14 rushing touchdowns (many aided by the Eagles’ trademark Tush Push)—don’t jump off the page compared to other elite QBs. But Sirianni and many others point to the bigger picture: Hurts’ 46-20 regular season record and 6-3 mark in the postseason, including his Super Bowl win.
