Martinez seeks to end Mbappe row: ‘He’s the best I’ve faced’

martinez seeks to end row with mbappe

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez is seeking to end any quarrel with PSG star Kylian Mbappe. He paid tribute to Kylian after winning the Yashin Trophy as the Ballon d’Or’s Goalkeeper of the Year. Martinez wants to end tensions regarding his World Cup celebrations earlier this year.

While speaking to France Football, he said: “If Kylian made me suffer? Yes, it is not for nothing that he is considered one of the best players in the world. I have a lot of respect for him, as a player and as a person.

“Obviously, there are images that have been taken and something, which has nothing to do with my personality, has been created. Kylian is an example to follow. This guy is great and already has a World Cup with France, in addition to giving me a hat-trick in the final.

“I think he can be proud and that the French too. If he’s the best attacker I’ve faced? Yes clearly. When Messi and Ronaldo stop, I think he will take over and win lots of Ballons d’Or.”
