Manchester United would have to almost double the current highest weekly wage in the Premier League if they want to sign Antoine Griezmann next summer.
The Red Devils are keen to add the French man to heir team after this season, as Jose Mourinho considers making him his marquee signing ahead of the 2018/2019 season.
According to Sun Sport, the Europa League holders had agreed on personal terms with Griezmann last season worth £290,000 per week.
However, since that time the interest in his signature has increased with Barcelona also keen to add him to their ranks.
The French man is now demanding an extra £100,000 per week to sign for Manchester United.
This new demand has reportedly rattled the Reds Devils are they might abandon his pursuit entirely.
But if Jose Mourinho insists on the French attacker the club’s hierarchy would have no choice than to sign him at all cost.
Mourinho had reportedly wanted the deal to happen this month, but Griezmann is careful not to soil his reputation and would wait until after this season.
He joined Atletico from Real Sociedad for £24 million in the summer of 2014 and has become a fan’s favorite at the Wanda Metropolitana.
