Manchester United have entered the race to sign a Nice midfielder, Jean Michel Seri.
The Red Devils have prioritised signing a new midfielder next summer as they prepare for the retirement of Michael Carrick after this season. Marouane Fellaini is also leaving the Red Devils after this season and Jose Mourinho knows he needs to replace the two of them.
The Portuguese manager wanted to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, but the Brazilian has decided to join their city rivals Manchester City instead. He is now looking at his other targets.
According to Sun Sport, Mourinho has asked for reports about the performances of Seri. Seri has been one of the most outstanding midfielders in the French Ligue one over the past two seasons and he was very close to joining Barcelona last summer.
Per Sun Sport, he has a release clause of £33 million written into his current deal, that figure would not be too much for United to pay.
Mourinho is also keen on signing Arturo Vidal and Fabinho, but he looks to be getting better reports from the scouts watching 26 years old Seri.
