West Brom would be looking for a second consecutive win when they visit Portman Road in this game while the home side would be looking to get a first win under Paul Lambert and move closer to avoiding relegation this season.
The visitors beat Leeds United before the break and that result has placed them in the 5th position as they bid to bounce straight back into the Premier League. However, they are facing a team in need of all the points and they may be made to work much harder if they are to come away with anything from this game.
The home side have won just one in 17 games this season and they seem to be on their way down to league one. Since they named Paul Lambert as their new manager, they have had a little improvement having gone from consecutive defeats to back to back draws, but that is too small an improvement when compared to the task ahead of them.
West Brom suffered some slumps recently after they had played their way into the automatic playoff spot. They however, beat Leeds 4-1 just before the international break, and that should have boosted their confidence ahead of this game.
Ipswich have won just one of their previous nine league meetings with West Brom (D2 L6), however this will be the first such clash since January 2010.
