Relegated last season, Ipswich are pushing for an immediate return to the Premier League. They now sit one point above third-placed Middlesbrough in the automatic promotion race.

Middlesbrough slipped up with a 1-0 defeat at Derby. Despite dominating the match, they failed to take their chances.

Bobby Clark scored the winner in the second half. It was Middlesbrough’s third loss in four games.

Leaders Coventry were held to a 1-1 draw by Charlton at The Valley. Ellis Simms scored early for Coventry before Joe Rankin-Costello netted his first goal for Charlton.

Coventry remain top and eight points clear of Ipswich.
