Inter Milan’s CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed that Manchester United are interested in signing the club’s No 1 Andre Onana this summer.
The Red Devils are in the market for a new goalkeeper after failing to renew the contract of current United No 1 David De Gea. Erik ten Hag values De Gea but is mulling over upgrading this summer, with Onana one of the names on the radar of the Dutchman.
Ten Hag and Onana worked together previously when the former was still Ajax coach, and a reunion could happen this summer, given that Inter seem content to release the Cameroonian.

According to the club’s CEO Marotta, United have indicated interest in signing Onana, but the Champions League finalists are only awaiting the first move from the Premier League side.
At the Gran Gala, Marotta shared details of Man United’s ‘particular interest’ in the player.
“Manchester United expressed a particular interest, but that needs to blossom into making a proposal over the next few days,” he said (via Sportsmail) when asked about Onana’s future at Inter.
“Once that happens, both Inter and the player will make a careful evaluation.”
Marotta confirmed that the club’s director, Piero Ausilio, ‘is working on (a deal)’ but that ‘there is still no official bid from United at this stage’.
Onana joined Inter as a free agent last summer. As such, selling him for the estimated £50m will represent profit for Inter, who are looking to raise funds in a bid to move for transfer targets, including Chelsea players Trevoh Chalobah and their loaned striker Romelu Lukaku.
