The Columbus Crew have extended Andrés Herrera loan from River Plate through June 2026, the club confirmed on Monday. The new agreement also includes a purchase option.
“Andrés Herrera has shown his professionalism and talent since he first joined our club, and we are pleased to extend his tenure in Columbus,” said general manager Issa Tall. “He has and will continue to demonstrate his competitive spirit and make a meaningful contribution to our group as we enter the second half of the season.”
The 26-year-old Argentine right-back has contributed 2 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearances (11 starts) since joining from River Plate in August 2023. His initial loan expired on June 30.
Columbus currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with 41 points (11 wins, 3 losses, 8 draws) as they prepare for a Matchday 25 trip to Nashville SC on Wednesday (8:30 pm ET | MLS Season Pass).
