Chelsea set to make Zakaria loan permanent in the summer

Chelsea are eying a £27m summer move for on-loan Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria this summer.

The Blues signed the Switzerland midfielder on a season-long loan in the summer from Juventus. But they are now considering a permanent deal after his parent club Juventus re-affirmed they are looking to sell the player in the summer in the light of their precarious financial position.

Chelsea can make his transfer permanent for just £27m this summer, which will be sufficiently less than they will pay for other midfield targets like Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.

He represents a cost-effective option for Chelsea and will allow Chelsea to keep within UEFA’s new Financial Sustainability Rules after spending well over £500 million in the previous two transfer windows.
