Chelsea set to make their number one the best paid goal keeper in the world

In a bid to keep him out of the clutches of Real Madrid, Chelsea are set to offer Thibaut Courtois a stunning new deal.

According to Metro Sport, the Blues are reportedly ready to offer the Belgian over £200,000 per week to remain with them.

This offer would see him topple Manchester United’s David de Gea who currently earns £200,000 per week.

The Belgian currently has just 18 months left on his deal, and with a return to Madrid a possibility due to family ties, the Blues are taking no chances.

Real Madrid have been keeping a close watch on the shot stopper who was with Atletico for Three seasons in Spain, and Los Blancos could make a move if the Belgian decides to run down his current deal.

Madrid are also looking at signing de Gea, but Manchester United are unlikely to allow their keeper leave for any fee at the moment as he remains one of the reason they  are challenging for the Premier League.

Courtois has asked that any transfer talks be suspended at the moment until the end of this current campaign.
