Liverpool vs Arsenal: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Arsenal will take their quest for the Premier League title to Anfield this Sunday, where they face an out-of-form Liverpool, battling to rekindle their top-four bid. The Reds, in recent seasons, have entered this time of the season embroiled in battles to secure the Premier League crown. But this campaign, they’ll merely be spectators after recording just 12 wins from their first 28 games of the season (D7, L9). European football isn’t even assured for them next season after a rotten run of no win in three league matches (D1, L2) has left them eighth and three points off of the top six ahead of this round. Read more: Lazio vs Juventus: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Each of those losses came on the road, and the Reds will hope Anfield can again be the equaliser in getting them back on track.  It’s proven to be so recently, and they have kept four consecutive home league clean sheets thanks to their most recent PL Anfield contest, a 7-0 thumping of bitter rivals Manchester United. Arsenal have often felt the wrath of a buoyant Kop, too, with Liverpool winning each of the last six PL head-to-head meetings at Anfield by an aggregate score of 22-4. However, the Gunners are a different beast this season and will be confident of getting a good result at Anfield this time. They come into this tie on the back of a 4-1 thrashing of Leeds United. The win made it seven successive PL wins to the Gunners, adding to the belief that the red half of North London can see their first league triumph since 2003/04.  Arsenal’s potential title-winning grit was on full display in their 3-2 success over Liverpool in the reverse fixture, meaning they could earn themselves a first league double over the Reds since 2009/10. Arsenal’s away form has been partly responsible for their dominance in the league this season, as they’ve won seven more points on the road than their closest title rivals. That includes victory in seven of their last eight PL away matches (L1), which has contributed to Arsenal owning both the league’s best defence (nine goals conceded) and offence (28 goals scored) on their travels. Manchester United vs Everton: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Manchester United will continue their quest for the top four this Saturday when they welcome relegation relegation-threatened Everton to Old Trafford. Both sides are fighting at opposite ends of the table, with the hosts part of three teams fighting for third and fourth position, while the visitors are in a battle with nine other teams fighting to avoid relegation. United come into this tie on the back of a massive 1-0 win over Brentford last time out. The win ended a run of three league games without a win (D1, L3) and took their season’s point tally to 53. That point toilet places them in fourth position, level on points with third-placed Newcastle United and three ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham, who have played one more game.  Read more: Southampton vs Manchester City:  Preview and Expert Football Prediction They will hope to keep their feet firmly planted in the top four and will be happy that they will return to Old Trafford, where they have enjoyed much of their success this season. Erik ten Hag’s men have lost only one game at Old Trafford in the Premier League (W10, D3) and have conceded the fewest goals at home in the league.  So they will fancy their chances of winning this game against an Everton side that they have a remarkable 38 Premier League (PL) wins against.  Meanwhile, Sean Dyche’s side secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last time. They won the point came despite playing most of the second half with ten men after Abdoulaye Doucoure was shown a straight red card for shoving Harry Kane. The result extended Everton’s unbeaten run to four PL matches (W1, D3), pushing them to 16th position in the standings. Although they sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference alone ahead of the game week, there’s a new fighting spirit in this squad who have now found an equaliser immediately after falling behind to each of their last three goals conceded.  So, they will travel to Old Trafford in high spirits and confident of another strong performance. If they win here, manager Dyche will grab an impressive personal record of becoming the second-ever English manager to win away at Old Trafford in the PL with two different clubs. Southampton vs Manchester City:  Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Relegation favourites Southampton will welcome Premier League defending champions Manchester City to St. Mary’s Stadium this Saturday for the 29th round of the 2022/23 Premier League season. The Saints’ march to Premier League relegation is unfolding before our eyes,  with each passing game confirming the almost inevitable outcome of Championship football next season. A 1-0 loss to struggling West Ham last time out saw them record their 18th loss of the season (W6, D5) and kept them rooted at the bottom spot after 29 rounds of games. Unfortunately, the result also showed one of their glaring weaknesses as they conceded their 12th Premier League set-piece goal of the season. Read more: Sevilla vs Celta Vigo: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  So they will welcome the Premier League top scorers this season to St. Mary’s, looking to stop a run of four games without a win (D2, L2) and also make it two wins in two games against City. Southampton beat City 2-0 the last time both teams met in the Carabao Cup and will need a miracle to extend that decent run against the Premier League holders here.  Pep Guardiola’s side come into this game in hot form, having won their last seven games in all competitions. Their last outing was a mesmerising 4-1 win over rivals Liverpool, helping to keep them within eight points of league leaders Arsenal.  With the Gunners not in action till Sunday when they face Liverpool at Anfield, City will see this as an opportunity to cut the gap to within five points, albeit temporarily. Having not tasted defeat in their last eleven competitive games (W9, D2) while also winning their last three away gans with two clean sheets, they will fancy their chances of getting maximum points against the Saints, who are the league’s joint-lowest scorers. Meanwhile, Southampton have won none of the last seven home league games in which they conceded the first goal (D2, L5). Click here to get accurate bet tips today.

West Ham vs Newcastle: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Eddie Howe and his high-flying Newcastle United side will travel to London this Wednesday to take on relegation-threatened West Ham United.  The Hammers remain embroiled in the relegation battle in the Premier League despite a narrow 1-0 win over relegation battlers Southampton last time out. The win was their second in their last four PL games (D1, L1) and their second clean sheet in that period.  While the win was not enough to move them more than two points above Leicester in 19th position, it at least relieved some pressure on David Moyes and bought him more time. But given the raft of managerial dismissals we witnessed this past weekend in the English top-flight league, Moyes will know he cannot lose more games. Read more: Manchester United vs Brentford: Preview and Expert Football Prediction West Ham will host Newcastle, hoping their form at the London Stadium will help them as they are unbeaten in five PL home matches (W3, D2), their longest run of the season. Meanwhile, Newcastle will look to make it four consecutive wins in the league when they travel to London, having beaten Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United in the last three rounds of league games.  The most recent outing, which saw them exert revenge over Man United with a 2-0, moved them into the top four places on goal difference. So their top four destiny is now in their hands, and they will be desperate to take it. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe urged his side to “build on” as their push for a first PL top-four finish since 2002/03 gathers momentum. His side won’t mind hitting the road in search of rising to the challenge, with their only defeat across their last ten travelling PL games coming at the hands of Manchester City (W5, D4).  The Magpies have been similarly high-flying on their visits to London, too, avoiding defeat in all four PL visits to the capital so far this season (W2, D2), last piecing together a longer such unbeaten run over nine years ago. Meanwhile, West Ham are the only side in Europe’s top-five leagues yet to score a goal inside the opening 15 minutes this season. So, a first-half goal could be an anomaly here. A low-scoring encounter is also expected, given Newcastle’s solidity in defence.  Click here to get accurate football predictions.

Manchester United vs Brentford: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

High-flying Brentford will look to continue their impressive quest for a top-six finish this Wednesday when they travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking to get back to winning ways after another poor outing last weekend when they were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle United. The loss made it three league games without a win for Erik ten Hag, whose side has shipped in nine goals without reply in that period.  After the latest loss, the coach criticised his players, claiming that their opponent wanted the win more than his stars. The coach will hope that his words will be enough to motivate his players and get his side back into the top-four race.  Read more: Leicester vs Aston Villa: Preview and Expert Football Prediction The hosts currently sit outside of the top four on goal difference but can claim their place if they win here. After playing two of their last three league games away from home, returning to Old Trafford will be a welcome development for United. Moreover, their record on this ground will be a confidence booster as Ten Hag’s men are unbeaten on home soil in all competitions since September (W19, D3). Also, no side in the division has conceded fewer than the eight PL home goals they have conceded at home this season. So they will be confident that their fortunes could change in this game. However, their visitors Brentford aren’t pushovers. The London club are one of the best-performing clubs in the PL this year, with just one PL loss since October (W7, D8). However, they will travel to the North disappointed over their inability to hold on to the lead in their last game. The Bees could not beat fellow top-six hopefuls Brighton last time, squandering the lead thrice in a pulsating 3-3 draw. However, boss Thomas Frank admitted that “you hope for more” in the circumstances after the game. He will be desperate to return to winning ways at Old Trafford as his side battles to secure a history-making top-seven finish. However, if those dreams are to become a reality, they will have to do better on their road trips, as the Bees have won just one of their PL away games in 2023 (D3, L1). Meanwhile, Man Utd have scored 16 of their 24 PL home goals this season after half-time. So a ‘Goal First Half‘ prediction will be correct for this game, while a BTTS/GG bet will also be sufficient.

Chelsea vs Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Another huge Premier League clash comes up this Tuesday as Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge for the rescheduled eighth Round fixture of the 2022/23 Premier League season.  The Blues come into this tie on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, which led to the dismissal of Graham Potter. The former Brighton boss is the second Chelsea manager sacked this season, following the firing of Thomas Tuchel earlier. Yet, the hosts remain far from their quest for a place in the top four. Their latest loss pushed them down to eleventh position, 13 points behind the top four, having played a game less.  Read more: Valencia vs Rayo Vallecano: Preview and Expert Football Prediction With a place in the top four seemingly impossible now, the Blues can still pursue a top-six finish that will qualify them for the Europa League next season.  Usually, a return to Stamford Bridge would provide a platform for immediate improvement and a return to winning ways, but confidence among the home crowd might be low as their side has failed to score in four of their seven home PL games this year (W2, D2, L3). Like Chelsea, Liverpool are also in dire form following a run of three straight losses without a goal. Manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is lucky to keep his job following the raft of sackings in the PL in the past week.  While his job is safe for now, given his achievements at Anfield, the German knows he is not immune to being sacked. However, the fans have been patient with him and the team, and Klopp will be desperate to repay their faith with a big performance on Tuesday.  However, the Reds have suffered five losses from their 11 PL fixtures in 2023 (W4, D2), which is already more than their total of four PL defeats across the entire 2022 calendar year (across two seasons). Furthermore, each of those five 2023 PL losses were all away from home, and looking across the entirety of their PL campaign, their eight away defeats (W3, D3) equals their tally from the previous three seasons combined.  Any points would be welcome from their visit to Chelsea, and considering the last five H2Hs have all been drawn (after regulation time), a share of the spoils might not be viewed as a surprising outcome. West Ham vs Southampton: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

The fight for Premier League survival enters its final stretch, with West Ham and Southampton meeting at the London Stadium for another cracking game. Both sides are desperate to find form following the international break. However, West Ham are the side more desperate for a win, primarily as the future of their manager David Moyes reportedly rests on results from this game. The former Everton and Man United boss could be relieved of his duties if he loses here. So a tense encounter could ensue, particularly as West Ham lost this game 3-2 last term. Read more: Newcastle vs Manchester United: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Another high-scoring encounter could follow because the Hammers have kept just four home PL clean sheets this term. Furthermore, at least three goals have been scored in ten of the last H2H hosted by West Ham (W7, L3). That said, the Hammers are unbeaten in four league games here (W2, D2), suggesting the international break perhaps came at a bad time for them as far as their home form is concerned. Southampton will hold similar feelings, having collected as many points since sacking Nathan Jones six PL games ago (eight) than in the 17 games prior, as they desperately fight to keep in touch at the foot of the table.  Following their battling 3-3 draw with Tottenham, in which the Saints battled back from 3-1 down, manager Rubén Sellés said, “the players want to fight for each other, and I’m very proud of it.” Selles will hope that his side can produce another battling performance in London that could see them move out of the bottom of the table. They will fancy their chances, though, considering they have won twice as many league away games as home ones this term (W4, D1, L9). Also, given that three of their away league victories this term came against sides that start the round inside the bottom six, all by a one-goal margin, the Saints appear well prepared to march into battle again. That said, this game will likely feature over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle vs Manchester United: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Manchester United will look to strengthen their grip on third position when they travel to St James Park this Sunday to play fellow top-four hopefuls Newcastle United. The Magpies are contesting for a place in the top four this season, with their brilliant recruitment and management driving them towards their first appearance in the Champions League since the 2002/03 season. They kept their quest on course just before the international break, with a pair of 2-1 wins over Wolves and Nottingham Forest, ensuring they remain within the distance of fourth-placed Tottenham. Read more: Inter Milan vs Fiorentina: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Even better is that Eddie Howe’s side come into this tie sitting just two points behind Spurs, with two games in hand. So a win here will take them above the North London club, who don’t play until Monday. A win here will also put them level on points with Manchester United, who are just three points ahead. Having lost the Carabao Cup to the Red Devils in February, they will be desperate to exact revenge on them here. St. James’ Park is the perfect place to achieve that, given that they have lost just one PL game here all season (W7, D5, L1). In addition, United wouldn’t want to drop points here, given the tight fight with Tottenham and Newcastle for the top four. The Red Devils signed off for the international break in style by cruising into the FA Cup semi-final thanks to a 3-1 win over an ill-disciplined Fulham side.  With the season now in its final stretch, the goal for teams is to pick up as many points as possible in each game. It’s no different for Manchester United, who can still win three trophies this season, having already secured the Carabao Cup and qualified for the last eight of the Europa League and FA Cup last four. However, the visitors had failed to score in back-to-back PL games and the reverse H2H (0-0). So they will have to be at their clinical best to win here and keep their top-four destiny intact. Rediscovering their scoring form will be crucial to any United success, as only relegation-threatened Leicester, Nottingham, and Bournemouth have conceded more away league goals ahead of this round than United’s 27.Click here to get the best prediction for the game.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

After two weeks without football, Chelsea return to Premier League action this Saturday as they welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge. The Blues will be desperate to return to winning ways after a disappointing 2-2 draw with a struggling Everton side marked their last game before the international break. The result ended a run of three consecutive wins for Graham Potter’s side, who are still battling to play Champions League football next season.  But with each loss, the Blues find themselves further away from their quest. They currently sit in tenth position, eleven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, having played a game less.  Read more: Manchester City vs Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction However, the injury-ravaged London side could now be without as many as five regular starters for the visit of Aston Villa, a side Chelsea have beaten in nine of the last eleven Premier League H2Hs (D1, L1). Potter’s side would dearly love to extend that run with another victory, but having won just three of their last nine PL home games (D3, L3), Stamford Bridge isn’t the impenetrable fortress it once was. It certainly isn’t the premier spot if entertainment is what fans want, with the stadium producing the fewest total goals (26) of any PL ground this season.  Meanwhile, Villa will come to Stamford Bridge confidently after going undefeated in their last four PL games (W3, D1). If Chelsea can still dream of a top-four finish, the visitors have every right to do the same, given that they are sitting just behind their hosts in eleventh position, with the same number of points on the table. However, Unai Emery will be more concerned about finishing strong, as his initial objective was avoiding relegation. But a win here will take them into the top half of the table and possibly shift their target for the season to breaking into the top seven and securing a place in Europe next season.  However, considering they’ve lost on six of their last seven PL visits to Stamford Bridge, they may be playing catch-up again come the close of play on Saturday. Meanwhile, Stamford Bridge is the only ground not to have seen a goal scored in the opening 15 minutes of a PL game this season. So we can expect a game of few goals. The best bet, therefore, will be under 2.5 goals.  Click here to get expert football predictions.

Manchester City vs Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Premier League returns this weekend with the biggest clash of the weekend, featuring Manchester City and Liverpool. Both teams will renew their rivalry this Saturday at the Etihad for the 29th Round game of the 2022/23 Premier League season.  Unlike in recent seasons, where games between the pair were title deciders, this weekend’s fixture features two teams on the opposite side of the form table. While Manchester City are flying courtesy of a run of six consecutive wins and ten games without defeat (W8, D2), Liverpool are winless and scoreless in two games (L2). Read more: Marseille vs Montpellier: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Pep Guardiola’s men kept their quest for their seventh Premier League crown alive just before the break with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in their last league outing. The win over the Eagles was followed by two massive Champions League and FA Cup wins, which came by a combined 13-0 scoreline.  One individual, Erling Haaland, scored eight out of those 13 goals. However, the Norwegian is unlikely to feature in this game, giving Liverpool a significant boost. But having fallen eight points behind Arsenal in the title race, City need little reminding that this game is a must-win if they want to keep their quest for the title alive. Meanwhile, not only does the likley absence of Haaland help Liverpool, the return of attacker Luis Diaz after five months of injury will also be a morale boost for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who will be desperate to get back to winning ways and rekindling their fading top-four hopes.  The Reds went into the international break in a dour mood, losing their last two games against relegation-threatened Bournemouth and Real Madrid before the hiatus.  With nothing left to play for than the top-four this season, Klopp will hope that his boys will give their very best in this game against a team they have beaten just once in their last 13 PL matches at the Etihad (D5, L7). Meanwhile, Man City’s run of eight consecutive wins at home ahead of this game puts them as clear favourites for a win here. Click here to get expert football predictions.
