Erling Haaland makes Premier League history

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has made Premier League history when he struck his 33rd goal of the season against Arsenal on Wednesday. The Norwegian superstar put the icing on the cake for Man City in their 4-1 win over the Gunners. The goal was his 33rd goal of the season in the Premier League and means that Haaland has now broken the previous record held by Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah for a single Premier League season. Haaland has 49 goals in 42 games in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side and will surely add to that tally before the season ends.  The Cityzens still have seven Premier League matches left to play. They will also face Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Meanwhile, Haaland has been directly involved in 57 goals (49 goals, eight assists) in 43 matches in all competitions this season, 15 more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues. He is scoring or assisting every 58 minutes on average. Manchester City are back in Premier League action on Sunday at Fulham.

Jurgen Klopp Dismisses Liverpool Top-Four Chances after Win over West Ham

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out his side’s chances of breaking into the Premier League top four following their 2-1 win over West Ham on Wednesday. The Reds made it three league wins in a row in London on Wednesday, returning from an early 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 thanks to pals from Coady Gakpo and Joel Matip. The result took them six points behind the top four teams, although Manchester United and Newcastle both have games in hand. As such, Klopp is reluctant to put his team in the mix just yet.  After the game, Klopp told reporters:  “I can’t see the race yet; I can’t. That’s because we are not in the position for a race. So the only thing we can do is keep winning football games. If that puts pressure on other teams, that’s not in our hands because we don’t play them.  “We play Tottenham – that’s it from that area, I think, of teams above us. If they win all their games, that’s it for us. But I don’t think about that.  “I want us to finish the season as good as somehow possible. I want to take something out of the season for next year. If that is European competition, great. If not, we have to accept it as well and go from there. That’s what I want now.” Read more: Liverpool interested in Manchester City Outcast The Liverpool manager added that he is looking for his side to show their real face from their six remaining fixtures. “I want us, at least for a few weeks, [to] show our real face – and not the nice one, the ugly one, the nice one, the ugly one. It’s really tough to do that. So now we did it for kind of three games – three-and-a-half, the second half against Arsenal was brilliant as well – all in a different way.” “Tonight, the first half I liked the most for a long, long time, like the way we controlled the game,” he continued. “We played here plenty of times; it’s always tough. Result-wise, it looked better from time to time, but the goals we scored were then counter-attacks, stuff like that, quick reacting, all these kinds of things. We controlled the game in a way we never did before against West Ham, and I really liked that.” Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Tottenham, with Klopp’s side having already climbed above Spurs on goal difference.

Everton vs Newcastle United: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Newcastle United will travel to Merseyside this Thursday to take on struggling Everton in the 33rd Round of the 2022/23 Premier League season. The Toffees are one of nine teams currently locked in a relegation battle. However, despite being reduced to ten men late in their last game, a determined Everton halted an in-form Crystal Palace with a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday. The result extended their record to just two defeats in seven Premier League (PL) outings. However, a big four draws within that run contributed to them slipping back into the relegation zone by goal difference heading into this midweek round. Read more: Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  After labelling Saturday’s result as “point earned,” manager Sean Dyche will know just how important it will be to follow that up with a win here. But to do so, the Toffees will have to overcome the psychological hurdle of just one win from the last six PL head-to-head meetings with Newcastle United.  Newcastle put themselves in a commanding position to secure Champions League football next season with a thumping 6-1 win over fellow top-four rivals Tottenham at St. James’ Park last time. Overall, the Magpies have scored 54 league goals, their most since 2002/03 (also 54), which was a season they finished in third position. With a yawning gap to fifth place, Newcastle fans are rightfully dreaming of famous Champions League nights back at St James’ Park, and another win here would take them one step closer to that goal.  However, Goodison Park hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the Toon Army, who have won only one of their last ten visits (D3, L6) – a run that includes last season’s defeat here, which also ominously fell on a Thursday night. Meanwhile, Sean Dyche has won six of his nine PL meetings with Newcastle’s Eddie Howe (L3), his most wins against any manager in the competition.  Click here to get the correct score prediction for this game.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Manchester United will look to continue their quest for a top-four finish this Thursday when they visit North London to face struggling Tottenham Hotspur. The hosts are enduring one of their most difficult moments in recent history, with results on the pitch and happenings off it, not the best. They come into this tie after a disappointing 6-1 loss to fellow top-four contenders Newcastle United. The game saw them concede five times inside the first half. The aftermath of that loss saw interim manager Cristian Stellini sacked and the players promising to compensate the club’s away supporters who travelled to St. James’ Park. With Ryan Mason taking over from the sacked Stellini until the end of the season, Spurs will be desperate for a win to keep them within striking distance of the top four.  They enter this round of games sitting six points behind their fourth-placed visitors, having played two games more. So defeat here could leave them nine points short of that ambition if Newcastle also wins, while it would also see them on the receiving end of three consecutive Premier League (PL) losses for the first time since February 2022.  Read more: West Ham United vs Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  Meanwhile, after booking their place in the FA Cup final, Manchester United will fancy their chances of winning here. No side in Premier League history have more wins against Tottenham than the Red Devils (39). They know that a win here will put them nine points ahead of Tottenham, and so they will be desperate for a win and to make it five wins in five games against Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils’ charge towards a top-four finish is powered by a strong defence that boasts the most PL clean sheets (14), helped by four shutouts in their last five league matches (W3, D1, L1).  But that solidity wasn’t on display in their last away assignment when they were dumped out of Europe by Sevilla. However, each of United’s previous six losses on the road were followed by a victory, so they should be confident of getting back on the winning trail here. Meanwhile, Tottenham has not had a home draw in the PL since December 2021 (W18, L8). So there is likely a winner in this game. Click here to get Sure Win Prediction Today.

Liverpool interested in Manchester City Outcast

Liverpool are reportedly looking to make a shock move for Manchester City star Kalvin Phillips this summer. Jurgen Klopp’s side are planning a summer rebuild and are keen to add at least three midfielders to their ageing midfield. Jude Bellingham was their primary target for the season, but the Borussia Dortmund sensation is considered too pricey. So the Reds are looking for cheaper alternatives and have identified Phillips as one. The midfielder joined Manchester City last summer but has yet to enjoy his time at the Etihad.  Read more: Manchester and Chelsea battling for PSG forward Neymar Injuries and a loss of form have seen him make just seven Premier League appearances for  Pep Guardiola’s side. But, per the Mirror report, he is open to leaving the Etihad this summer and would ‘relish’ the chance of playing under Jurgen Klopp, per a report. City signed the former Leeds United favourite for £45m (including add-ons) last summer and might be willing to sell him slightly for less that amount.  Apart from Phillips, Liverpool have also been linked with Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, Ryan Gravenberch and Nicolo Barella, to name just six.

West Ham United vs Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Liverpool will look to make it three wins in three Premier League games when they travel to London to face West Ham United. Meanwhile, David Moyes’ side are looking to make it two wins in two league games and to keep their chances of survival alive in this game. The Hammers took a giant leap towards Premier League survival with a massive 4-0 win over fellow relegation candidates Bournemouth last time. The win made it five games without defeat for the hosts (W3, D2). The result also saw them score four goals for the second consecutive game after a 4-1 win against Belgian side Gent in the Europa Conference League. They now sit six points ahead of the relegation zone and will be hoping to keep their run going when Liverpool visits. However, keeping the Reds at bay will be a tall order, considering that only two of West Ham’s last 20 encounters with opposition starting the day in the top half ended in victory (D5, L13). Read more: Manchester City vs Arsenal: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  Jurgen Klopp’s side are unbeaten in twelve of the last 13 head-to-head meetings (W10, D2), although that only loss did come in this fixture last season.  They will look to win here and keep their dreams alive for an unlikely top-four finish. A miraculous 3-2 against Nottingham Forest at the weekend ensured they remained within striking distance of the top four places. But there is still work to be done to salvage something tangible from the season, as they currently sit seventh in the table. Meanwhile, West Ham are one of three Premier League teams this season yet to experience a 0-0 draw. So we can expect goals when both teams meet.  Therefore a BTTS/GG prediction would not be out of place.

Tottenham in DISARRAY as they SACK second coach this season

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked acting head coach Cristian Stellini following their embarrassing loss to Newcastle United on Sunday. The North London side were humiliated as they were beaten 6-1 at Newcastle on Sunday. Stellini described the performance as the worst he has ever seen, but he has now paid for the display with his job. Spurs released a statement on Monday night to confirm the decision, with club chairman Daniel Levy wishing the Italian well in his future endeavours.  “Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff,” the statement said.   “Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season, and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.” Read more: Mateo Kovacic’s agents set for transfer talks Premier League clubs Ryan Mason, a coach under Stellini, will take over first-team management. The 31-year-old is understood to have significant support from Spurs’ players to take the team until the end of the season. This will be the second time he is acting in that capacity, having also acted as interim head coach in 2021 after Jose Mourinho was sacked.  “Ryan Mason will take over head coach duties with immediate effect. Ryan knows the club and the players well. We shall update further on his coaching staff in due course,” Levy’s statement continued. “I met with the player committee today – the squad is determined to pull together to ensure the strongest possible finish to the season.  “We are all clear we need to deliver performances which earn your amazing support.” Stellini is the second coach Spurs is sacking this season following the dismissal of Antonio Conte late last month. The Italian lasted for just four games, with a record of one win, two losses and one draw.

Manchester City vs Arsenal: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Manchester City and Arsenal will go head-to-head this Wednesday in arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season for a  top-of-the-table clash that could decide where the title will end this season. Both sides are in a heated title race, with Pep Guardiola hoping to ensure his mentee and former assistant Mikel Arteta does not end their run to a third straight Premier League title. After slipping up, Guardiola’s side has fought well to keep up with Arsenal, thanks to a strong run of six straight Premier League wins.   They have done so while keeping their quest for a historic treble alive. They saw off Bayern Munich last week ( 4-1 on aggregate) to reach the Champions League semi-finals before beating Sheffield United (3-0) last weekend to book a place in the FA Cup final against Manchester United. Read more: Girona vs Real Madrid: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  So they come into this time in solid shape as they attempt to close Arsenal’s five-point gap at the top of the table, knowing they still have two games in hand. Their form at the Etihad will give them belief here, as the Cityzens have won each of their last six home PL fixtures by at least a two-goal margin, even though only two came with a clean sheet.  But Arsenal could struggle to score here as the hosts haven’t conceded in any of the last four head-to-head meetings (W4). The North London side have had terrible outings in their recent visits to the Etihad and cannot afford another poor result as that will take the title destiny out of their hands. Although they are five points ahead of City, they have played two more games and must win this game to ensure that the title destiny is still in their hands at the end of this round.  They could have been okay with a draw if they hadn’t shot themselves in the leg with three straight draws in which they conceded seven goals. They travel to the Etihad without a clean sheet in their last six games and must sort out their terrible defence to get all three points in this game and keep their title quest alive. Meanwhile, this season, Man City’s Premier League home games have produced a league-high average of 2.2 goals per first half. So we expect a high-scoring game at the Etihad, with over 2.5 goals a high possibility.

Manchester and Chelsea battling for PSG forward Neymar

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly the clubs leading the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar. The PSG attacker has endured another frustrating season that has seen him miss many of his club’s games because of injury. The Brazilian is out for the season with an ankle injury he picked up in PSG’s 4-3 win over Lille in February. This has led to reports that PSG want to sell him and take his huge weekly salary out of his wage bill. Read more: AC Milan interested in Man City’s Kyle Walker The Parisian club are looking to rebuild their squad and are now prioritising younger players and French stars instead of big names. They want to build their team around Kylian Mbappe and could allow Neymar to leave this summer if the right offer comes.  So according to reports by Foot Mercato, Man United want to take advantage of this and bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford. However, that can only happen if they can finalise a sale of the club.  The Red Devils are in the midst of a takeover and will be able to sign quality players once the new owners take over. According to the report, several big names will be signed in the event of a successful sale, with Neymar on the list of wanted star players. Meanwhile, the Red Devils are not alone in the pursuit of Neymar. Fellow Premier League side Chelsea are also interested in the Brazilian. The Blues unsuccessfully tried to sign the 31-year-old last summer but will be back on the negotiation table this summer.

Girona vs Real Madrid: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Real Madrid will travel to Estadio Municipal de Montilivi on Tuesday to face Girona in the 31st Round of the 2022/23 La Liga season. Girona saw their four-game unbeaten run in La Liga (W2, D2) ended on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Valladolid. The result was a huge blow to their chances of qualifying for European football for the first time in their history.  So a more realistic target for this season will be eclipsing their best ever top-flight finish of tenth in 2017/18, with their next assignment a Real Madrid side against whom they’ve fared well recently (W1, D1, L1). Read more: Leeds United vs Leicester City: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  Although they lost the last two home head-to-head despite scoring on both occasions, draws away to Barcelona (0-0) and Real Madrid (1-1) this season suggest they could influence the title race.  They will fancy their chances of causing another upset here, given that they have lost only one of their last five home La Liga fixtures (W4). Meanwhile, Real Madrid kept their unlikely La Liga race alive by beating Celta Vigo 2-0 on Saturday. The win was their fourth consecutive game to have finished in their favour with that scoreline.  But they remain eleven points behind table toppers Barcelona. But they will hope to keep winning, hoping for a slip-up from the Catalan side with seven games still to play. Meanwhile, mixed away form since November has been a key factor in Los Blancos falling so far behind Barcelona (W4, D1, L4), a far cry from when they began their league campaign with six consecutive victories on the road.  But recent campaigns suggest they should finish strongly, as when including only their final four away trips of a La Liga season, Madrid have lost just one of their last 12 fixtures away from the Bernabéu (W8, D3). Meanwhile, Girona’s home La Liga games have produced the second-highest average of total goals per game (3.07) in the division. So we can expect an over 2.5 goals game here.
