Jurgen Klopp clarifies Liverpool’s Jude Bellingham transfer decision

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his club have been forced to accept defeat in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham. The Reds have been working on a deal to sign the 19-year-old midfielder for years but have been forced to pull out of a race due to the financial numbers that will be involved in the deal. The Premier League side believes the amount needed for Bellingham is too expensive for a side with limited resources and significant transfer needs elsewhere in the squad. Dortmund maintains they do not want to sell Bellingham this summer. online pharmacy buy azithromycin no prescription with best prices today in the USA But if they are forced to sell, it will require at least €150m, which, added to wages and agent’s fees, have seen Liverpool step aside. This has left Manchester City and Real Madrid as the likeliest destinations for the 19-year-old. If we don’t speak about players we are signing or not signing, why would we now speak about this kind of speculation? Really nothing to say.” When pressed further about the situation at Liverpool, the German compared his club’s pursuit of Bellingham to a child asking for a Ferrari for Christmas. “It’s not about Jude Bellingham,” the boss continued. “I never understood why we constantly talk about things we theoretically cannot have. “We cannot have six players in the summer where everybody is £100m, for example. Chelsea confident of beating Man United and PSG to Victor Osimhen’s signing despite the absence of Champions League football

Chelsea reportedly believes they can win the race for in-demand Napoli striker Victor Osimhen even without the allure of Champions League football next season. The Blues have made the Nigerian marksman their top striker target for 2023 after months of scouting, and club officials are preparing what will likely be a club-record bid to take the 24-year-old to Stamford Bridge. Osimhen is one of Europe’s most talked about strikers this season, with his 21 goals in 23 games for Serie A leaders Napoli propelling them to their first Scudetto title in over 30 years. The 24-year-old is also on the radars of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United, who are all understood to have made contact with the striker’s representatives. But according to a report by 90min, Chelsea believes they can outbid their rivals and convince Osimhen to move to London even without the promise of Champions League football next season. The Blues are currently sitting outside the top half of the Premier League and are almost certain to be knocked out of the UCL after a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter-final tie. Read more: Alexis Alexis Mac Allister’s father put clubs on alert after statement on sons’ Brighton future They believe that moving to London will interest Osimhen as it will allow him to follow in the footsteps of his childhood idol, Ivorian striker Didier Drogba, fondly remembered as one of Chelsea’s all-time greatest players. The only hindrance to a possible deal for Osimhen will be money, as Chelsea are on the brink of breaking Financial Fair Play (FFP) rule unless they can move on some players. However, the Stamford Bridge side are ready to do just that, with the likes of Conor Gallagher, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech all set to be sold to fund the move this summer.

Bayern prepare bid for Harry Kane with Bundesliga giants ready to pounce on Tottenham uncertainty

Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to test Tottenham Hotspur’s resolve with a big-money offer for star striker Harry Kane. The Bavarians are looking to sign a top-quality striker this summer after failing to replace Robert Lewandowski last season. The Pole was Bayern’s leading marksman for several seasons but joined Barcelona with one year left on his contract last summer.  His replacement Sadio Mane has not lived up to the billing at Allianz Arena, with fitness issues and poor form denying him the impact that the club would have wanted. They are preparing to send an offer for the Tottenham striker, who has been on the radar of the German giants for a long time.  Bayern feel that Kane’s frustration with Spurs’ trophy drought will help them could secure their target. The Three Lions captain has just one year left on his contract at Tottenham Hotspur, and Bayern Munich will look to persuade him to Germany by offering him a lucrative deal.  The 29-year-old had also received interest from Manchester City in the past, while Manchester United are also rumoured to be interested. However, it’s doubtful that Daniel Levy would sanction a deal to sell him to an English counterpart.

Alexis Alexis Mac Allister’s father put clubs on alert after statement on sons’ Brighton future

The father of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that he expects his son to leave the Seagulls this summer. Mac Allister saw his profile rise considerably after playing a crucial role in Argentina’s run to World Cup glory in Qatar last November. His performance at the tournament alerted several Premier League giants, who have since voiced an interest in signing the 24-year-old. According to reports, Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Chelsea are all closely monitoring Mac Allister, who signed a new three-year contract in October. Juventus are also among the sides from Europe keen on the Brighton man. The talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will be playing for another team in July.” Brighton are unhappy with Mac Allister and his entourage for the way they have handled the issue of his availability in the summer and have warned that they will not be pressured to sell.  The Seagulls have proven that they can stand their ground when big clubs come for their star players, with Arsenal’s unsuccessful pursuit of Moises Caicedo a perfect example of their stubbornness.

Arsenal and Man United target Julián Brandt sign new Dortmund deal

Borussia Dortmund have announced that Julian Brandt has signed a new contract that will keep him at Signal-Iduna Park until 2026. The midfielder’s previous deal was set to expire next summer, but the Bundesliga giants have successfully negotiated an extension after several weeks of behind-the-scenes negotiation over new terms. The new deal comes as a blow for clubs interested in Brandt, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United all interested in the player, while Italian clubs Inter and Napoli were also keeping a watchful eye on negotiations. Read more: Erling Haaland compared to Messi and Ronaldo  BVB confirmed on Tuesday that Brandt has committed his future to the club. Brandt said in a club statement: “Even after four years, I still have a lot of fun every single day being part of this very team, standing on the pitch with these guys and playing football for this highly emotional club with its extraordinary fans. “To be honest, the feeling of being in the right place at the right time has always been the most important point in my sporting life. “And that won’t change either. I’m looking forward to the next few years in black and yellow. And I’m sure we’ll have the opportunity to celebrate something big together.” Having sealed a deal for Brandt, Dortmund might attempt to tie down the highly sought-after Jude Bellingham to a new contract. The English midfielder is wanted by Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid but could stay back at Signal Iduna Park beyond this summer after Liverpool pulled out of the race due to his price tag. Meanwhile, Dortmund are still in the Bundesliga title fight and could still pip Bayern Munich to the title this season, given the Bavarians’ struggles. Should they win the title, it will help them in future negotiations and could persuade Bellingham to stay.

Liverpool pull out of Jude Bellingham’s race

Liverpool have reportedly given up their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. The Reds were keen on signing Bellingham this summer after identifying the Englishman as the face of their new project.  But new reports on Tuesday claim that Jurgen Klopp’s men have dramatically decided to pull out of the race to sign the youngster as they prioritise a significant squad rebuild instead. Read more: Jurgen Klopp’s wants Nicolo Barella to strengthen his struggling midfield According to a report by GOAL, the financial outlay needed to sign Bellingham this summer convinced Liverpool to abandon the deal and seek cheaper alternatives that would benefit the entire team.  Borussia Dortmund had placed a £120 million ($149m) price tag on the 19-year-old, who has two years left on his contract but who is expected to look to move clubs at the end of the season. Liverpool believe they could get two or three other quality players with that amount and have taken the early and pragmatic decision to focus on a group of signings this summer rather than one stellar addition who would blow their entire kitty. Klopp and the Liverpool transfer team have identified Chelsea’s Mason Mount as a possible alternative to Bellingham. The England midfielder will cost way less than Dortmund want for Bellingham, given that he has a year left on his contract at Chelsea and wants to leave Stamford Bridge. As a result, the Blues will be forced to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free next year. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Wolves’ Matheus Nunes is understood to have cooled. Still, Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, Bayern’s Ryan Gravenberch, Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners and Luka Sucic of Salzburg are all admired.

Man Utd planning HUGE summer clear-out

Manchester United are reportedly planning to sell as many as 13 players this summer in order to properly replenish Erik ten Hag’s squad. According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are keen on a squad overhaul, and have identified at least 13 players that they consider dead weight, who could be sold this summer to generate funds for a squad rebuild. Erik ten Hag’s side are currently facing ownership uncertainty and are also walking a tightrope with Financial Fair Play given their incredibly bloated squad. But they are  now planning to address their squad size and are ready to move on over a dozen first team players and popular names. Read more: Erling Haaland compared to Messi and Ronaldo  Cheif among those that could be sold is Annthony Elanga. The Swede has attracted plenty of interest, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly keen. Also, defender Eric Bailly is also seti to be moved on at the end of his unsuccessful loan spell at Marseille. Ivorian youngster Amad Diallo is set to be given a chance in the first team next season, while Facundo Pellistri could then be sent on loan for further experience, following his breakthrough season at Old Trafford. United could also try to sell club captain Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek. The club has transfer targets in mind and have already spoken to the representatives of Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong, giving new transfer negotiator Matt Hargreaves plenty to get busy with over the coming months

Jurgen Klopp’s wants Nicolo Barella to strengthen his struggling midfield

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barea this summer. The Reds are in the market this summer for a midfielder as they are  determined to strengthen that department of their team, given that they have struggled massively in that area this season. They have long been linked with Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, but they face fierce competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City for the signature of the England international. Read more: Joao Cancelo insists Bayern career has been ‘positive’ despite a disappointing start Apart from Bellingham, Brighton star Moises Caicedo is also a target. But the Ecuadorian has been linked with a number of top Premier League sides and might elude Jurgen Klopp’s side given that they might not qualify for the Champions League next season. According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Liverpool have now placed Barella at the top of Klopp’s wishlist of midfield reinforcements along with Bellingham and Caicedo. But as it the case with Bellingham and Caicedo, the Premier League side could face competition in the race for Barella. Chelsea are reportedly interested in the 26-year-old, although the Blues might be restrixyed by finances given their £600m spending spree across the last two transfer windows. It’s expected that Barella would cost Liverpool around £65m – a hefty fee, though potentially cheaper than what they could sign Bellingham or Caicedo for.  The Italian is happy with life at the San Siro and is contracted there until 2026.  But Inter could be forced to sell if a big offer comes in for their midfielder.

Haaland compared to Messi and Ronaldo

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has likened Erling Haaland to five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and his eternal rival Lionel Messi. The Norwegian striker has been in hot form since joining Man City from Borussia Dortmund last summer. He is already City’s all-time leading goalscorer in a single season, having scored twice in his side’s 4-1 over Southampton on Saturday. That brace took his tally in the Premier League this season to 30 in only 27 appearances. With nine games still to play in the PL this season, Haaland could score ten more goals, given his current ratio of goals per game. That would put the Norwegian on 40 goals this season. Should he achieve that, he would smash the existing single-season Premier League record of 32 goals held by Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.  Read more: Man United make decision of Marcel Sabitzer Speaking after the game against Southampton on Saturday, Haaland’s coach Pep Guardiola quickly praised the superstar’s goal-scoring ability, comparing him to Ronaldo and Messi. However, he insisted that the Argentine was a more complete player.  “In terms of the thesis of scoring goals. He’s quite similar in terms of Cristiano, but Messi is the more complete player,” Guardiola explained. “Messi can play wherever while Cristiano and Erling are machines. Erling knows those two guys dominated over two decades, not just one or two seasons, winning titles and doing everything. Football is a better place for Cristiano and Messi for what they have done for our business and the traction of these two guys competing at the big clubs. “Erling is arriving in the toughest league in the world. I can talk as I’ve been in other leagues, and doing what he has done is remarkable.” The Catalan coach worked extensively with Messi at Barca and is better placed than most to directly compare Haaland to the World Cup winner. And according to Pep, it seems that Haaland has the edge on the all-time great in terms of his positive mindset. “Haaland is always happy, always smiling. Lionel Messi scored two but not three and was a bit sad because he didn’t score the third!” Guardiola explained. “Erling is all the time in an incredible mood. Even in the bad moments at the beginning of this season, when people said he couldn’t adapt, he arrived at training with a big smile and said hi to everyone. He has had an incredible impact, not just on the pitch. “Every day in training sessions, in the locker room. I have the feeling that he is so happy with us. He never complains about [being taken off]. He respects me a lot.”
