Frenkie de Jong wants to join Chelsea

Manchester United transfer target, Frenkie de Jong has no interest in joining them, but he would consider a move to Chelsea. The midfielder has been the subject of long-term interest from the Red Devils and they have even secured an agreement with Barcelona over his signature. However, the former Ajax man is reluctant to move to Old Trafford even though he would be reunited with his former manager, Erik ten Hag. Matchplug understands that the midfielder has no problems leaving Barcelona in this transfer window, but he will only do that for a club that he thinks are worth his talents. At the moment, United is not one of the top clubs in Europe and he is not keen to join them and help them return to the top European football. Chelsea turn their attention to Inter Milan defender

Chelsea is now interested in a move for  Denzel Dumfries after missing out on their long-term target Jules Kounde. The Blues reached an agreement to sign Kounde from Sevilla after pursuing him for over a year, however, Barcelona has hijacked their move for him and he is not coming to London. It is a huge blow to their summer plans, but they have now turned their attention towards Dumfries of Inter Milan. The Italians need to sell some players to balance their books and they consider Dumfries one man who can leave them for the right fee. Chelsea wants to take advantage of that to add the wing-back to Thomas Tuchel’s squad for this campaign. ‘I want to stay’ Neymar insists he is not leaving PSG

Neymar has reiterated his desire to remain at PSG amidst reports that he is on the market for a new club to buy. The Brazilian only signed a new bumper deal at the Parc des Princes in the last campaign and that was a show of support from the club. However, PSG’s failure in European football in the last campaign has forced them to change their managers and they could also change their playing squad. Reports have been claiming the French champions want him to leave if a good offer comes as they seek to rebuild their squad. However, the Brazilian attacker has insisted he has no plans to leave and wants to remain on the books of the French club for now. Matchplug quotes him saying: ‘I want to stay at PSG. I don’t know about the club, because they’ve never said anything to me.  ‘I have a contract for several years here. There you go. For now, they’ve said nothing.’

Jose Mourinho wants to sign Manchester United defender

Jose Mourinho is targeting a reunion with Erik Bailly at AS Roma as the Ivorian struggles to make a name for himself at Manchester United. Bailly was signed by Mourinho for the Red Devils in 2016 and he has remained on their team since then, continuing to struggle under different manager. The former Villarreal defender has not been able to become the club’s first choice and he is unlikely to impress their new manager, Erik Ten Hag. The Dutchman likes to play with defenders that can play the ball out from the back, but Bailly is guilty of struggling in possession. He was never a favourite under the club’s last two managers and he might suffer the same fate under Ten Hag. Ten Hag wants more attacking signings at Manchester United

Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag has urged the club to add new attackers to his squad. The Dutchman has just become their latest manager as they attempt to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford. He has overseen a largely successful preseason, but his team is still without Cristiano Ronaldo who has asked them to sell him. Their attack has a lot of talents including Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. But the former Ajax manager wants more players on his team. You need more options in offence. But we also have still time to fill that in.’ United have beaten Liverpool in this preseason and their overall performance has been impressive which has made their fans to dream about having a great season. Ben Mee agrees to join Brentford

Brentford has completed the free signing of Ben Mee on a two-year deal as the defender ends his long association with Burnley, Matchplug understands. Mee has been one of the Premier League’s reliable defenders over the years, but he was powerless to stop Burnley from being relegated at the end of last season. The Clarets released him at the end of the campaign alongside several first team players who were out of contract at the club. The defender was attracting the attention of several clubs around the country and he has now decided to move to Brentford. The Bees did well in their first season back at the Premier League. Barcelona wants to hijack Chelsea bid for Kounde

Barcelona is making a late attempt to persuade Jules Kounde into joining them instead of moving to Chelsea. The Frenchman is close to becoming the next defender to move to Chelsea after the Blues struck a £55m agreement with Sevilla for his signature. Borussia Dortmund striker, Sebastian Haller has been diagnosed with testicular cancer in a huge blow to the German club. The striker has just joined them in this transfer window from Ajax and he was training with his new teammates ahead of the new campaign.
