Tottenham are facing a major hurdle in keeping hold of Toby Alderwereid as the Belgian continues to make a huge demand before signing an extension to his current Spurs deal.
The Belgian centre-back is arguably the best centre back in the Spurs team and one of the best in the world at the moment, but he earns just £50,000 per week at Spurs. He knows he can more than double that figure at another club.
He has asked the club to break their salary structure and pay him £180,000 per week, but the Lilywhites are unwilling to do that, at least not at the moment.
He has been attracting the interest of several teams since his contract situation became public and he may just be on the move at the end of the season.
Sun Sport is reporting that Barcelona are the latest side to show an interest in signing him next summer. The Catalans join rivals Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City as teams monitoring his situation.
His current deal expires in 2020, however, he can join any team for £25 million in the summer of 2019.
