Manchester United have been paired in the same Champions League group as Juventus this season, and they look set to welcome back Cristiano Ronaldo when the two sides meet at Old Trafford.
However, one player who is also set to return to his old stomping ground is Paul Pogba. The Manchester United academy product moved to Juventus in the summer of 2012 after failing to land a professional deal with Manchester United. He returned to Old Trafford for a then world record fee in 2016.
This summer he was looking for a move away after falling out with Jose Mourinho, but the Rede Devils rejected all offers for his signature, but Pogba is still keen on leaving the Theatre of Dreams.
According to reports, he wants a move away in January, and a return to Juventus is his preferred option. He is claimed to be keen on playing alongside C. Ronaldo and that is his major motivation for wanting to make the move back to Italy.

Manchester United are not having the most ideal campaign. The Red Devils have lost two straight league games, and are currently enduring their worse start to a Premier League campaign since 1992.
However, they are optimistic about the future and they want to keep hold of their best players no matter the nature of their relationships with Jose Mourinho.
One player who has fallen out with Mourinho and who may struggle to get game time under the former Chelsea boss this season is Anthony Martial, but the French man is not bowing out despite the treatment from his manager.
Reports claim that Martial is set to sign a new 5 years contract with the Red Devils that would see him net £130k per week because he believes he would outlast the former FC Porto boss.
That would mark a remarkable U-turn for a player who was desperate to leave the club this summer. Martial has been relegated to a squad member since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez last winter, and his agent had claimed that they wanted out.
His current deal was supposed to expire in 2020, but an extension would take the 22 years old further into his 30s at Old Trafford now.

This is the second time Real Madrid are playing a league game at home this season and it is the second time that a Madrid based side is visiting the Bernabeu, they would be looking to make it three wins from three to start the season.
Julen Lopetegui’s side have started their post-Ronaldo era in commendable form despite losing the Super Cup to Atletico Madrid. Last week, they were easily the most impressive team as they came from a goal down to down Girona 4-1 away from home.
Two of their goals in that match were penalties, but there is plenty to take away from their performances. Gareth Bale looks set to score many goals this season, and Karim Benzema who netted just five league goals last season has also started this campaign well after being moved into a more central position.
Leganes have it all to do this weekend after staging a comeback of their own to earn a first point of the season the last time out. They needed a late strike from Nabil El Zhar to help them earn a 2-2 draw against Real Sociedad after going 2-0 down.
They are still searching for their first win of the season, but this game doesn’t look like where they can get it.
There have been 6 meetings since Leganes won promotion to La Liga in 2016. Real have won 5 of them but they were eliminated by their city rivals in the Copa del Rey last season. Last term’s meetings at the Bernabeu produced two 2-1 scorelines, one in favour of each team.
Manchester City’s Premier League defence started very well until last weekend when they visited new boys, Wolves. The Cityzens were held to a 1-1 draw at the Molineux, and they would be desperate to get back to winning ways against this out of form Newcastle United side.
Manchester City are currently 5th on the league table as Liverpool, Chelsea, Watford and Tottenham have maintained a 100 percent record in the new season, but they would expect one of them to slip up this weekend and open the door for them to get into the top four.
Newcastle United have made another unsurprisingly poor start to the season and they would be looking to avoid relegation back to the Championship at the end of this campaign.
They lost their first league game of the season before earning a point in a 0-0 draw at Cardiff City. Last weekend they unluckily lost 2-1 to Chelsea as Rafa Benitez almost succeeded in parking the bus before an unfortunate own goal gave Chelsea the win.
Benitez’s side lost 3-1 after Extra time in the Carabao Cup in midweek, but they have shown that they can frustrate big teams and they would need to do that here to even lose by a respectable scoreline.
Manchester City have won their last 9 home games against Newcastle.
Real Madrid and plotting a swoop for Manchester City star, Raheem Sterling as the England attacker continues to reject the Cityzens offer of a new contract.
Sterling has just two years left on his current deal and he has been in negotiations with the Premier League winners over extending his current deal. However, both parties seem to be very far from reaching an agreement.
Sterling scored 23 goals last season and he was hoping that a good performance at the World Cup would see his value skyrocket, but he wasn’t very impressive in the competition even though the Three Lions reached the semifinals.
Reports claim that Real Madrid are monitoring his situation and Los Blancos plan to make a move for him next summer.
They are hoping he would not have signed an extension at that time and would make a similar cut-price move as Thibaut Courtois did this summer.
Sterling has said that he would love to test himself outside of England when he leaves Manchester City, Los Blancos would be a big chance he would want to take.
With three days remaining for the European transfer window, Premier League clubs who have seen their window of bringing in new players closed early have to stop other European sides from signing their top stars.
One club who may have to deal with players leaving, is Arsenal. The Gunners made a couple of new signings this summer, and with a new manager at the helm some star names have failed to make the starting eleven, and are understandably considering their future.
According to Sun Sport, the Gunners’ striker Alexandre Lacazette is considering his future at the Emirates after falling down the pecking order under Unai Emery.
With the Spaniard dismissing the possibility of playing with two strikers earlier in the season, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has been getting the nod to start as the sole striker ahead of the former Olympique Lyonaise man.
The Gabonese attacker has not impressed and he is still looking for his first goals for the Gunners, yet Emery believes he is a better option to Lacazette. Reports from France claims that at least three top European sides are looking to sign him, and he is giving serious considerations to their offers.
Lacazette scored 17 goals for the Gunners last season, and he came on to inspire a 3-1 win over West Ham at the weekend.
Chelsea may have signed two new midfielders this summer, but the Blues are not ready to allow any of their important players leave Stamford Bridge even on a temporary basis.
One player who would definitely be affected by the signing of the new midfielders is Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and the Blues academy product has been desperate to secure a move away.
However, Chelsea have told the former Crystal Palace loanee that he cannot leave as he is part of Maurizio Sarri’s plan for the new season.
He has played just 22 minutes this season and was hoping that the Blues would allow him further his development at another European side, but that would not be happening.
According to reports, Chelsea have rejected loan offers from AS Monaco and Schalke 04 for his services o, and this has left the midfielder unhappy.
Loftus-Cheek played for England at the World Cup and he fears that he would lose his place in the Three Lions line up if he doesn’t play as much as he did at Crystal Palace last season.
