Tottenham worked lots of miracles before they can reach the final of the Champions League here and it would be even sweeter if they can beat Liverpool and win this competition despite this being their first ever appearance in the competition’s final.
The Lilywhites may not have won any trophy under Mauricio Pochettino yet, but they remain a better side under the Argentine and have secured 4 consecutive top-four finish under the former Southampton manager despite not signing a single player last summer.
They struggled early on the competition and even needed to wait until the last match day to qualify from the group stage, before staging a miraculous comeback against Ajax in the semifinals to reach here, they would play their hearts out in this game.
Liverpool have a more illustrious history in this competition having won it 5 times and also reached the finals in the last two seasons.
The Reds have made themselves kings of two-legged clashes and Jurgen Klopp would be hoping to end his hard luck in cup finals when he takes on Spurs in this game.
While Spurs were struggling for form towards the end of the season, Liverpool won all but one of their last 13 games in all competitions and their fans would be hoping they can make it 13 wins from 14 after this game.
Lazio would be looking to continue their dominance in this fixture when they welcome Bologna in this game following their success in the Coppa Italia.
Lazio would be looking to build on that Cup win and earn what should technically be a second home game in as many matches.
They won that Italian Cup with 2 late goals and Atalanta manager still believes the referee aided them, but that won’t count here and the capital city club won’t need a favour from the ref here as they have traditionally dominated this clash.
Bologna manager was a former Lazio and perhaps was more associated with them as a player than any other club as he won numerous trophies with them.
He has done a good job at Bologna since he joined them at the end of January. Prior to moving for him, the club was in the relegation zone, but he has helped them up the table and should be proud of what he has achieved with that group so far, but a win here would be tough to achieve.
The visitors have clinched 6 straight home wins, but they have been less than convincing on their travels and we expect them to struggle here again.
Napoli would be welcoming Inter in this game as the visitors battle for the last Champions League spot on the Italian league table.
The home side has all but secured their place in the league top two and would be looking to end their season on a high in front of their fans, but there is a feeling that Inter Milan would want it more.
Inter are in a serious battle to end the season inside the top four and come here just one point above Atalanta who are 4th on the league table and 5 points above Milan who are 5th.
It seems to be a battle that would carry on until the final day of the season, but Inter would be keen to win here and confirm their qualification.
Inter won their last game against Chievo 2-0, however, prior to that, they were on a run of 3 consecutive draws.
They would be keen to earn at least a point here and pray that teams below them have a rough weekend as well.
Atalanta would be looking to build on their 3-0 win over Juventus in the Coppa Italia earlier in the year as they look to finish inside the Italian top four, while Juventus would be looking to recover from their 2-0 loss to AS Roma the last time with a win here.
Atalanta have been impressive all season but come here having suffered a heartbreaking loss at the Coppa Italia final in their last competitive fixture.
Their 2-0 loss to Lazio in that final was their first loss in six games, and it ended their five-match unbeaten streak. They know they have to win this game to keep their place in the top four as AS Roma and AC Milan are working hard to displace them.
Juventus have wrapped up the Italian Scudetto long ago and that seems to have affected their consistency. They were beaten by Roma the last time by two late goals, while their previous two games against Inter and Torino ended in draws.
The home side wants to celebrate their title win after this game and it is only fitting for them to win this game.
Rangers would be looking to earn a win here and salvage some pride after Celtic finally beat them to an 8th consecutive Scottish league title last week.
Steven Gerard’s side has had a season of highs and lows and they would be keen to give their fans something to remember this season for by beating Celtic in this game.
Gerard’s side hasn’t been consistent for much of the season but their fine run in the Europa League and their current run of 5 consecutive wins show that they can beat any team on their day and their fans would hope that is the case in this game.
Celtic have left it a little late, but they have finally secured an 8th consecutive league crown after beating Aberdeen 3-0 the last time.
While it was almost inevitable that they could win the league again, their struggles against some of the league’s lesser sides and the departure of Brendan Rodgers had made things a little tough for them.
Celtic are still undefeated this year despite the departure of Brendan Rodgers early on, but Derbies are still hard to predict and we expect them to try and get yet another win here.
Liverpool fans may have enjoyed their team’s incredible comeback win against Barcelona on Tuesday, but they would be hoping for some drama on the final day of the Premier League season here.
They would welcome Wolves for this final game of the season looking to see how they can get a win and hope that Manchester City drops points against Brighton.
The Reds have been matching Manchester City’s results for much of this year, winning their last 8 league games on the trot.
Wolves have been the most impressive team in the Premier League among those promoted last season and they look set to end the season with European qualification should Manchester City win the FA Cup.
The Midlands side have beaten most of the top six sides this season and even eliminated Liverpool from the FA Cup, however, they were beaten 2-0 by the Reds in the reverse of this fixture and Liverpool’s form suggest that a similar outcome may be in store for us here.
Tottenham watched as Liverpool bettered a Lionel Messi-led Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday and were determined to prove that they are also capable of turning around a bad situation.
They went on to perhaps even better the Reds performance by scoring 3 goals in the second half against Ajax to reach the Champions League final having been 3-0 down at half time.
They would now turn their attention to the Premier League as they look to secure yet another top four spot.
They may have been impressive in the Champions League, but their latest league result leaves a lot to be desired. They come here needing a draw to reach the Champions League, however, their better goal difference means even if they lose this game they would most likely still end the season in a Champions League place.
Everton come here guaranteed to end the season outside the top seven, which may be considered as a disappointment by some but they would be keen to at least end the season well by taking some points off Tottenham.
