Arsenal are currently closer than any other English team in the battle to secure the signature of Juventus centre half Daniele Rugani.
According to Sun Sport, despite interest from Manchester United, the Gunners are set to launch a £35 million offer for the 23 years old.
Rugani has found it hard to force his way into the Juventus line up this season, and the Gunners are looking to prise him away with the promise of first team football.
The centre back was dropped from the squad in their 3-2 loss to Sampdoria earlier in the season, and the form of his fellow centre halves have made it hard for him to get back into the team.
Mehdi Benatia has particularly been in solid form this season, if the Moroccan continues to perform in such a manner, Juve would have no choice but to let Rugani leave due to his demands for first team football.
The Gunners however face stiff competition from Manchester United and Jose Mourinho’s interest could drive his transfer fee up next summer.
