Manchester United have been dealt a major blow in their quest to bring Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford next summer as he has agreed to a move to Barcelona.
The 27 years old has been in sensational form since he moved to Atleti in the summer of 2014 and he has scored 23 goals in 37 games this season, but it appears to be his last at the Wanda Metropolitana.
Manchester United were hoping to use the influence of his pal, Paul Pogba to bring Greizmann to the Premier League, but they would now turn to other targets as they look to spend 200 million pounds next summer.
According to Sun Sport, Griezmann has agreed to move to Barca for a reported 88 million pound although the Madrid based side was trying to raise his release clause it to 185 million pounds.
Gareth Bale is another target of Jose Mourinho and the Welsh winger looks like a possible alternative to Griezmann. The Red Devils, however, faces competition from Chelsea and Tottenham for his signature.
Mourinho is also planning to sign new midfielders to fill the gap that would be left behind by the departure of Michael and Marouane Fellaini.
