The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Adam Beckman to a one-year, two-way deal, they announced on Monday.
This contract will make Beckman $775,000 at the NHL level and $125,000 at the AHL level.
Drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, he divided this past year between Minnesota and Iowa. In 11 matches with Minnesota, he secured two assists. With Iowa, Adam scored 19 goals and 14 assists for 33 points in 51 regular season matches.
Besides his nine-game pro stint with Iowa in 2020-21, Beckman went pro full-time in the 2021-22 campaign. Before this, he played with Spokane Chiefs (WHL) where he pulled 97 goals and 99 assists for 196 points in 153 career regular season matches.
The Devils drafted Beckman in June in place of Graeme Clarke. He will likely begin the season with the Utica Comet. Although he has watched NHL matches every season since going pro, he might find it hard securing a full-time position with the Devils in 2024-25.
