Ayden Heaven says Manchester United can still force their way back into European football after Monday’s 4-1 win over Wolves.
The victory moved United to within one point of the Premier League’s top four. A Champions League return is now in sight.
United bounced back from a poor draw against West Ham. Bruno Fernandes scored twice. Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount added goals after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde briefly levelled for Wolves. That was Wolves’ first league goal since October 26.
United finished last season in 15th. They missed Europe after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham. But the lack of midweek games may help them rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
Heaven, still a teenager, said the team responded well. “We dropped points in the last game, and this was the chance to redeem ourselves,” he said. “We did that, especially in the second half.”
