Tottenham have won the race for the signature of Ryan Sessegnon as the teenager prefers to remain close to his family and friends in London. Sessegnon has been a revelation for Fulham since he broke into their first team as a 16 years old last season. He continued to impress this season and his performances earned him a lot of accolades at the EFL end of season awards.
Several top European sides have been looking to prise him away from Fulham from last summer, however, he decided to sign professional forms with the Cottagers with the hope of helping them get promoted to the Premier League. But they have failed to qualify automatically and would have to go through via the playoffs.
According to Sun Sport, Sessegnon has agreed to join Tottenham for next season ending speculations about his future. per the reports, the 17 years old would sign for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, then he would be loaned back to the Cottagers for the whole of next season so he can get enough game time that his development needs.
Sessegnon has been moved upfield this season as a left-sided attacking midfielder, and he has scored 20 goals in 70 professional games for the Cottagers.
These two sides are looking to be the team that finishes second behind the indomitable Celtic and this game would go a long way to prove which team is the second best in the division. Aberdeen have been the best second to Celtic for the past three seasons, but Rangers are gradually finding their feet as they look to overtake Celtic yet again as Scotland’s best team.
Steven Gerard would be taking over at Rangers next month and try to bring back the glory days to the Ibrox outfit, however, it would great if they can finish this season on a high note and usher in his reign in confidence knowing it can only get better. Another spice to this game is that current Aberdeen manager, Derek McInnes rejected the Rangers offer this season, would the Gers make him regret that or would he prove to them why he turned them down.
Rangers have a good record in this fixture with five wins from their last six games and they have lost only nine times in their last 74 meetings. Despite Aberdeen’s rise, Rangers still have five wins from their last six visits to this ground.
The race for who would not be relegated from the Premier League this season has been more interesting than the race for the division’s winner since Manchester City proved that they are head and shoulders above the rest of the top six, and this game brings two of the bottom four together in what could be a relegation shootout.
When Carlos Calvahal was named as Swansea manager, their results quickly changed and it seemed as if they would end the season inside the top ten, however, things have taken the turn for the worse yet again and the Swans could get relegated if they lose here. Their last league game ended in a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth, the 7th game they have played without a win, and they have collected just 3 points from a possible 21.
Southampton, on the other hand, seems to have found their feet towards this tail end of the season. While the Saints have still won only two of their last 23 league games, they have managed to go undefeated in their last three league games, which is the major reason they are still in the league fighting.
Swansea come into this game 18th and just behind their visitors on goal difference, they would be hoping to win here and send the Saints down to the Championship.
