Barcelona players are urging the club’s board to sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann next summer.
The Catalans have spent more than £200 million for the past seven months after losing Neymar to PSG in the summer. However, they could be looking to outspend Real Madrid again next summer.
Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho have been signed to cover for the loss of Neymar, however, none of them have set the La Liga alight yet despite Barcelona’s dominance and the Catalans could turn to Griezmann.
Spanish publication, Sport is claiming that players of Barcelona unanimously agree that signing Griezmann would boost their chances of dominating the European game and it is important for them to sign him ahead of his other suitors.
Griezmann has scored 99 goals for Atletico in just four years under Diego Simeone but his time could be coming to an end after he helped them settle at their new stadium.
Manchester United are also keen on making the French man their Marquee signing next summer, but they face a major hurdle in convincing him to swap Spain for the Premier League.
