Lazio will travel to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Monday to face Verona in the 21st round of the 2022/23 Serie A season.
The relegation-threatened Verona continued their upturn with a 1-1 draw against Udinese last time out. The result extended their impressive Serie A start to the new year (W2, D2, L1), a run that moved them to within five points of safety coming into the round.
Having lost the reverse fixture against Lazio 2-0, the hosts will be eager to avoid their first double head-to-head defeats in a single season since 2017/18.

Lazio missed out on the opportunity to climb to second position last time as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina. That loss was followed by a narrow 1-0 loss in midweek to Juventus in the Coppa Italia.
But with only five points separating them from second-placed Inter ahead of this round, the visitors will be eager to put their cup disappointment behind them and win this game.
One goal could be enough to return to winning ways, as they’ve conceded just 16 this term. Maurizio Sarri’s side have kept a clean sheet in six of their nine away league matches (W5, D2, L2), so they will fancy their chances against a Verona side that have lost each of their five home league matches against top-half sides.
