Real Madrid would not be pursuing a deal for Neymar after this season.
The Brazilian’s father has been meeting with Madrid President Florentino Perez for some time now as they look to get the Brazilian to replace C. Ronaldo.
However, Neymar who has been disappointed by the level of French football, gave the PSG hierarchy his word that he would spend at least two seasons in the French capital and is willing to honour that agreement.
C. Ronaldo has scored just one La Liga goal this season and has also been unsettled. He was rumoured to have told the club he wants to leave for a reasonable price at the end of this season.
Some sections of the Real Madrid board believe the Portuguese star is well past his best and should be stripped of his powers gradually, and Neymar is the ideal player to replace him because of the commercial value he would offer.
Neymar has had to deny rumours claiming he is unhappy in France, however close friends and family continue to doubt if he would ever settle in the French league.
Real Madrid would also need to let Gareth Bale off their wage bill before they can afford Neymar, and Manchester United are ready to sign him next summer.
