Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade has hinted at refusing a move to Liverpool over the summer. TMW reports that the Reds failed with a €25m offer for Andre.
Ahead of the Copa Libertadores final, the midfielder said: In the last transfer window I didn’t talk about my possible farewell, the first time I’m doing it in more depth is now.
“The offer we received was a really serious proposal from a club that plays in a big league. Every player dreams of one day playing for a big club in Europe in a big league, but I kept my word because, when the January window closed, the coach told me he wanted me here until the end of the year.
“We didn’t know that offer would arrive and I told him that I would stay whatever happened. In the end, the offer arrived in the middle of the year, we were in the round of 16 of the Libertadores and it was a very difficult decision to make, but, if I had accepted, I don’t know if I would have been comfortable…
“The coach appreciates honesty and told me that my value would increase.”
