Facundo Pellistri wants to leave Manchester United in January

Uruguayan attacker Facundo Pellistri wants to leave Manchester United permanently in the January transfer window after failing to make a single appearance for the Red Devils.

The 20-year-old joined the Red Devils under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2020 and was tipped to make an impact at Old Trafford.

However, he has been unable to earn enough chances to even make a mark on the team and has slipped further down the pecking order under Erik Ten Hag.

He was expected to leave on loan this term, but he no longer wants to make another temporary transfer. Matchplug understands he, instead, wants to leave the club permanently.

He is hopeful the Red Devils will agree to terminate his contract by winter and allow him to leave for free.

The youngster has surprisingly been named in Uruguay’s initial squad to play at the World Cup and hopes to make the final cut to the competition.
