Chelsea and Arsenal would have to wait until next summer at least for them to sign Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian attacker has emerged as one of the most sought-after players this month, and several top sides are looking to prize him away from Leicester City.
However, The Sun is reporting that the Foxes would resist all temptations to sell this month as they look to finish inside the top half of the Premier League at the very least.
Chelsea want to add Mahrez to their team in preparation for the departure of Eden Hazard who would most likely ask for a move to Real Madrid after this season.
Antonio Conte has added Ross Barkley to his midfield and has even sent a message to Ruben Loftus-Cheek that he has a future at Stamford Bridge.
However, he sees Mahrez as a more creative player compared to the duo.
Arsenal are looking at the possibility of cashing in on Alexis Sanchez this month as Manchester City prepare to tempt them again with £35 million offer.
Arsene Wenger did not want to sell Sanchez last summer, but the Chilean has underperformed this season, and they seem to regret not taking the £60 million Manchester City offered them in August.
Sanchez would only leave the Emirates if a suitable replacement is found, and Mahrez is one player Wenger thinks can replace him.
