The Bayern Munich board has drawn a line through the candidacy of José Mourinho.
Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is widely considered to be the club’s preferred choice as Thomas Tuchel steps down at the end of the campaign.
According to Sky Deutschland, Mourinho has also been named at Säbener Straße in recent weeks but is currently no longer an issue for Uli Hoeneß, Max Eberl and Co.
Appointing The Special One, who was sacked by AS Roma in mid-January, is presently not under discussion.
Xabi’s agents have already had a series of discussions with Bayern Munich. Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi is also being named as an option.
