Last week’s 1-1 draw against LAFC makes FC Dallas the first team to take a point off the competition’s newest Franchise at home. That result was made more impressive due to the fact that Dallas had been beaten 3-1 by Eastern Conference favourites New York City FC the previous weekend.
Dallas loss to NYCFC is their only loss so far and they have been impressive although 50% of their matches have ended in draws. One of their strengths is their defence as they have let in just seven goals all season, making them the best defence in the competition. They have also struggled a bit up front with just eleven goals scored so far. They have remained unbeaten at home this season although 3 of their 5 home games have ended in draws.
The excitement that trailed the start of LA Galaxy’s season has subsided after they fell to a third straight defeat following their 1-0 win over Chicago fire over a month ago. Houston Dynamos, Atlanta United and New York Red Bulls have all beaten the Galaxy in their last three MLS games and they have lost their last four games overall.
They are now out of the playoffs’ place and they would look to get a win here that would get them back into that position. The last time they visited Dallas, they were mauled 5-1 and although they haven’t been beaten by that kind of margin this season, they would have to be careful not to fall for it.
LA Galaxy have lost four won one and drawn one of their last six meetings with Dallas.
