Bournemouth’s Evanilson Has Red Card Overturned

Bournemouth striker Evanilson will not serve a three-match ban after his red card against Manchester United was overturned on appeal, the FA confirmed on Wednesday.

The Brazilian forward was sent off in the 70th minute of Sunday’s 1-1 draw after a VAR review upgraded his yellow card to a red for a challenge on United’s Noussair Mazraoui.

Evanilson, who has scored 11 goals in 31 games this season, was due to miss upcoming league matches against Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester City.

However, the FA said: “An independent regulatory commission has removed Evanilson’s three-match ban following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal.”

Bournemouth, currently 10th in the Premier League, face Arsenal away on Saturday.
