Michael Porter Jr. Optimistic to Play in Game 3 Despite Shoulder Injury

Michael Porter Jr. participated in the Denver Nuggets’ practice Wednesday, and interim coach David Adelman expressed optimism that Porter would be ready for Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday.
Porter sprained his left shoulder in Game 2 when Kris Dunn fell on him during a loose ball scramble. Although Porter didn’t speak with reporters, he appeared comfortable on the court by the end of practice.

Adelman praised Porter’s toughness, saying, “Mike’s one that I don’t think gets enough credit for how tough he is and what he’s played through over these years.” While Adelman couldn’t confirm Porter’s availability, he trusted that if Porter could play, he would. If Porter is unable to go, Peyton Watson, Russell Westbrook, and Jaylen Pickett are expected to see increased minutes.

Before the injury, Porter had a standout performance in Game 2. He scored 15 points and grabbing a team-high 15 rebounds.
