Bengals Ready to Franchise Tag on Tee Higgins for Second Year

The Cincinnati Bengals are working to finalize a long-term deal with wide receiver Tee Higgins, according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero.

If an agreement isn’t reached by March 4, the Bengals are expected to apply the franchise tag for a second straight year at a cost of $26.2 million (120% of his previous salary).

Tagging window begins February 18, and while it will keep Higgins for another season unless traded, the Bengals can still negotiate a long-term extension before the July 15 deadline to make the tag permanent.
