Tottenham were thrashed by Liverpool in Wembley with a 4-0 victory.
Spurs won the first meeting at Anfield with a 1-0 victory but conceded to a 4-0 defeat in the second leg.
Spurs started strong with a solid defense from its defenders and goalkeeper Antonín Kinský made a few easy saves from Salah and Núñez.
However, they slacked off and Liverpool equalized on 34 minutes when Cody Gakpo scored a right foot shot from Mo Salah’s pass.
Salah followed with another goal 17 minutes later. Then Dominik Szovoszlai added the third and Virgil van Deal sealed the scores with a header.
Tottenham has lost the chance to move to the final and play against Newcastle.
Gakpo shared his thoughts on
Liverpool’s win, ‘I think the stadium helped a lot. we knew we had to come back’, he told Sky Sports.
“We went out there and tried to bring as much as possible. With the quality we have, we know we are going to get chances. It was a great win.”
The Final match will be Liverpool’s 15th in the league.
