UEFA speaks on Real Madrid Ballon d’Or Controversy

uefa speaks on real madrid ballon d'or controversy

The UEFA released a statement addressing last week’s Ballon d’Or controversy with Real Madrid.

Madrid refused to attend the ceremony after they heard that Manchester City player Rodri beat Vinicius Junior for the title.

Many people accused the UEFA of discrimination, which are claims they are now rejecting:

A statement, published by Sport, read: “We categorically deny the claims circulating about UEFA’s alleged comments on the Ballon d’Or result.

“Neither UEFA nor its president have made any statements or comments on the results of the award selection. Such reports are totally unfounded and do not reflect reality.”

UEFA states that it may sue “any party involved in the dissemination of these false statements”.
