Shohei Ohtani recently reinforced the saying “a dog is man’s best friend” when he chose to surprise baseball fans with a one-of-a-kind suit at the MLB All-Star tournament.
At Tuesday’s All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Frutitas, he brought that quote to life when he wore a suit with his dog, Decoy, designed on the inside.
“I chose the color based on my dog, and here’s my dog in my suit,” Ohtani said through interpreter Will Ireton.
Back in 2023, when Ohtani accepted his AL MVP Award on MLB Network, his dog, Decoy joined him. From that point, the relationship between the pitcher and his dog has attracted more attention, to the extent that the Los Angeles Dodgers are sharing an Ohtani-Decoy bobblehead on August 28th at the Dodger Stadium.
Putting his dog in a suit goes to show that he is just like the average dog parent. In this specific manner, Shohei is very relatable with the admiration he has for Decoy.
