jason kidd suffers non-covid illness

Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd missed Friday night’s game at Denver with a non-COVID-19 illness.

Jason Kidd could not make the game and was replaced by top assistant Sean Sweeney. This is the second time Sweeney filled for him. He was 3-1 when Kidd was in the health and safety protocols during the 2021-2022 season, Kidd’s first with Dallas.

The Mavericks enter their first meeting with the defending NBA champion the Denver Nuggets as the only unbeaten team in the Western Conference. Mavs are 4-0 for the first time since the 2004-2005 season.
